Has FAU become our nemesis on the hardwood or what? Maybe we get another shot at them in the tourney and can serve up some Mean Green revenge. Here are the final home attendance stats for the season. The '23-'24 team brought in a total of 61,982 fans to the Super Pit. The final home game attendance of 4,551 was enough to bump our season average another 30 for a 4,132 per game average. That is a 380 or 10.13% per game increase over last season. Fantastic YoY progress and hopefully something we build on next year. In terms of conference home game attendance we fared even better with one less conference game at the 'Pit. Last year we had 10 C-USA conference games at home with an average attendance of 3,975. This year, with 9 AAC conference home games we had an average attendance of 4,628. That's a 653 or 16.44% per game increase in conference games. Again, fantastic YoY progress. Let's beat Rice and make a deep run in the conference tournament. Go Mean Green!9 points

It’s been such a frustrating year record wise and I know we’ve had injuries too. But our team is so tough and I’m so proud of these guys. This is what it’s like to be in a good basketball conference and we just gotta keep goin and growin. Hope nobody is ready to fall off the wagon. Apart from still having the conference tournament ahead of us, we can’t do the thing we do sometimes where we give up. Don’t let go of the rope!6 points

They are just better . We can beat them but it would have to be a perfect night for us. We might get them in the quarterfinals.6 points

Refs have made this unwatchable basketball. These are two good teams. Get out of the way and stop ruining the game!4 points

Nice to see Patrick Cobbs moving up. A lot of would-be tacklers are going to have green tire tracks on them this season.4 points

Congrats to FAU on the win. They flat beat us. Davis is a great player. They made the winning plays when it counted. Thought our situational basketball down the stretch was suspect, particularly the bad inbounds play. Impressed with FAU’s athletes and their physicality.3 points

FAU played better. Wonder what the game looks like with Rondel playing? We had our chances, but couldn’t make a bucket those last 4 mins. Thought we could have taken advantage of Scott’s size a bit more. Maybe in the AAC tournament? Foul trouble really bit us today.3 points

Disappointed for Rubin that he didn't have a better final home game, but maybe he'll have better games in the post-season. That 4th foul called on him looked very ticky-tack to me.3 points

This would not be good. Maybe we drop this one. I would be scared to face UTSA in our first round.2 points

Thanks for what you do, Harry. Does the Collective benefit football as well? Is that why there are two separate entities? One for each sport? Thanks!2 points

It does not appear that we have done much to change the ratings to me. I see us winning 4-5 game next year with this defense. And we still have not landed one portal defensive lineman.2 points

Quad 4 losses cancel out Quad 1 wins (they only have one of those). Most of the bubble teams don't have multiple Quad 4 losses...they are devastating. Then it falls to the other criteria, which does make it dicey for USF given they only have one Quad 1 win.2 points

Yes. It works the same as the mens, except that there are 4 less at larges. The NIT I think is rather likely at this point. However to make the NCAA tournament I really think they need to at least make the final to have any kind of chance.2 points

We had our chances. I won't say the refs cost us the game, but at least let me bitch about FAU. Just like the game in Denton last year, FAU needs to weather a run and they start flopping. Goldin is the worst. They are an incredible basketball team and don't need to resort to that garbage. I even yelled at the refs to be ready for it before the game started but apparently they didn't believe me.2 points

We will be in the 5th spot come the end of the 2024 season. You heard it here first!2 points

Don't forget that loss at Boise State this season when Scott and Jones both fouled out and then we lost at the end.2 points

Need some stops. Refs still horribly inconsistent with their calls. On another subject, game production much better but the young lady with the mic needs to turn it down. I am going to hear that voice in my sleep for days.2 points

I do. These refs suck. I don’t like to complain about the officiating, as I have done it in the past, but these three remind me of a certain trio.2 points

We probably need to win at least two tournament games to be considered. Also the professional pundits predict if FAU beats USF in AAC final that both teams might get a bid, but if USF wins FAU won't.2 points

It is crazy how hard the NIT is to get into now. And people like to crap on it, but it is almost like the runner up to the NCAA. Almost....2 points

There are a lot of people who have said for years you can't win anything at UNT and you can't build anything of significance. What Coach Burton and the ladies proved is that you absolutely can with the right coach. Just like McCasland did with an NCAA tourney win and NIT championship. It can be done here! You just have to have the right coach. For years we were told that Jalie was the best we could ever wish for and that without her we would be in big trouble. Same with Coach Pete and Tina Slinker before him. There are some on the football board that say we should give coach more time and I don't disagree but you can't just allow coaches 3-4-5 years to prove themselves anymore.2 points

Quite frankly with what little they did to change the defense and personnel we deserve to be there. Hope I am wrong but we have been here before.2 points

Plenty of teams win their conference regular season and wouldn't be close to being on the bubble if they lost their league tournament.2 points

Maybe I am getting old but is there really a need for music at every break in play? Have to disagree. The women’s DJ only played only hip-hop, some with questionable lyrics, that most in the crowd aren’t familiar with outside of the college kids.1 point

Mods, feel free to move this, but it is football(parking) related the MGSF has decided to take away the assigned parking privilege we have been paying for all these years in the Black Lot. They are saying that too many people(~12 per game)are not parking in the right spots, the parking lot monitors are not doing their job. So to alleviate that problem, they are taking away assigned parking from us all. This is a making of their own actions. They take away paper parking passes and switch to digital. No way to see on the windshield. This is an issue they created. I bought into a program that promised assigned parking and am still paying for that. They reduce a benefit, but not the price. Assigned parking is a huge value to me. It is nice to know where you are going to park every time. this was not thought out well. if this is a problem for you, please call the MGSF office and let them know1 point

We'll sell out against Wyoming if they very cleverly market that we're playing the Cowboys.1 point
