* -- out for spring

It was also interesting how much running UNT did after practice. The whole team had to run for each penalty committed in the scrimmage. It looked like a marathon at the end of practice. Head coach Todd Dodge said the Mean Green must cut down on the number of penalties it commits.

Jamel Jackson looks like he could be a dynamic force as a punt and kickoff return man, but he appears to have the nasty habit of being blasted at the end of his returns. He took a couple of really good licks on Friday. He reminds me a little of Ja'Mel Branch.

A couple of depth chart changes of note were JUCO transfer Kylee Hill starting at safety and AJ Penson moving ahead of Steve Warren at outside linebacker.

Not from what I saw in high school. If that is the case, then Dodge laid a major egg with his recruitment.

Your right he's had a full year to transition from high school TE to D1 college DT he should be starting by now. Give the kid an Dodge a break he's going to be a red shirt freshman and is making a pretty big switch in positions if he's not playing by the end of the season or next spring then I can start to consider him to be a bust.

Practicality on message board...you must be new here

He is but the line depth is paper thin. Drake is an all conference center and they need Johnson to play. Interesting note was they have Marquis Sykes at start dend. That would be a positive development, he certainly has the size and athleticism.

Damn, the OL has been devastated this spring. Coach Lefty must be pulling out hair BUT looking forward to having all the beef back in August.

For all the players missing on the OL the ones there are doing a decent job. We saw the defense come a couple times with blitz packages and the OL picked them up very well. Most of the sacks occured after the QB had stepped up into the pocket and went past the 3 second mark holding the ball, otherwise known as a coverage sack.
