Cosmoline is the devil. Take the wooden hardware off and lay it out in the hot sun, otherwise it will weep it for months.

Some people take the hardware off and then put it in low heat in thier over, but "long-chain, non-polar hydrocarbons + high heat" doesn't seem like a good idea to me.

Oops, almost forgot, since we are buying a house we kept the gifts small. My wife got me New Super Mario Brothers for the DS Lite.

She became addicted almost instantly. I haven't seen the DS since Christmas.

I got a new rear sight for my AR-15 so that I can now mount my eotech sight on the rifle. I also got a Yugoslavian SKS which I'm still in the process of cleaning the packing grease out of.

New rear sight? Flip-up BUI?

I also know two guys that are specialists with Kalashnikov variants and they also spend some time tinkering with the SKS series as well. They might also know of someone that either has or can fabricate polymer furniture for that carbine if you're not into wood or if the wood starts to cause problems.

Took three soundtracks from my girlfriend's favorite movie director, compiled them and then designed and built a custom 3-disc CD set complete with custom labels, flap envelope, and cards. Didn't cost me anything, but it took more than its fair share of hours to complete.

I got a PSP system, a game and some accessories from my Hubby, a Queen size Sleep Number bed for both of us from my Mom, and a Kalouah gift set (with the booze) from my brother and sister-in-law. Also gave many many squeeky toys and treats to my four legged furry Minature Schnauzer children, and I gave my hubby a ton of Ohio State stuff since he's from there.
