I seriously hope Morris/Shanbour take the reigns and work with the backs/receivers as much as possible over the summer. Timing and ball placement are easily the two most important aspects of this passing attack and we could use all the help we can get in those regards

I believe between Morris and Shanbour they'll have plenty of summer work. There's a reason D. smith is no longer here. Didn't want to put the work in.

A QB or active captains can be huge driving forces when it comes to summer workouts. Overtime is needed after this last season. Especially, since there is a new system.

What makes you think the previous two teams didn't work hard in the off season? Hard work and talent are two different things. I bet McNulty worked very hard as did many if not most of the team. Frankly, players that don't give the proper effort don't last long, and don't think the coaching staff doesn't know who is doing what in the off-season.

I doubt there are many college players that don't work hard, getting a college scholarship indicates that. The problem is almost everyone works hard, so those with more talent are still going to be better than those that have less natural ability.

McNulty didn't spend all summer throwing routes to receivers and going over concepts not PLAYS. Huge reason Rutherford couldn't get on the field too many plays too few concepts.

If you watched the 2013 and 2014 Beyond the Green, you would have noticed a different work ethic in the players off time. When they were playing Mario cart together, they were a bong away from giving me flashbacks of high school. Didn't see anything like that in 2013. That squad provided better content for a show about Mean Green football!

So when a team is winning and going to bowl games you have a story line about winning and bowl games you can follow - if you're producing a TV show about the team. (2013)

Players didn't suddenly discover Mario Cart in 2014. I assure you those MC nights were happening in 2013 as well.

Exactly. The problem wasn't "bongs and Mario kart". Those were there previously.

The difference was leadership. The people who made the ship float graduated. This exposed the coaching leadership flaws. Enter; vodka, job security fear (from many) and Blame games.

Down down down went the ship.

Valid point. Both in that you have put the best spin on what your working with and MC nights have been around since the N64 was the latest and greatest console of its time. I do want to clarify, I wasn't taking a shot at Beyond the Green for what it put out. But admit I didn't consider your main point when posting.

Will try and stop dwelling on the past and focus on the future.

Actually, the most important quote was pre-spring game, when he said UNT didn't have enough depth to have a spring game.
