  1. He's well ahead with the recovery process. Has been running routes and working with some coaches and QBs since Jan.

  2. Would be a really good fit. I know receiver isn’t a position with a lot of need, but while we have good talent there we aren’t as deep numbers wise.

  4. CBL is on this board like, what, once a month? He's intentionally poking the bear because he knows a similar ban doesn't matter.

  6. Mc’s the worst, paraphrase “ it’s hard to recruit at North Texas” he should of been fired then.

  8. plant fitness has a $10 month with no contract he take advantage of if he needs to work out. Not playing for the team he should not have access to any facilities at UNT. He is just a student and can use the same facility the regular students use.

  14. Hmmm... Since Ruder doesn’t graduate from NC until May I assume he will not be available for the spring game ? Its 36 outside. I’ve never felt so warm. GO MEAN GREEN

  20. Guess I'm thinking more about being around team meeting and so forth. Look, I am not sure how the transfer discussion went. Maybe it was a smooth split, maybe not. My point is not about the weight room, etc. but any player leaving should have restricted access to areas where meetings or information is available. Once his name went in the portal he should not have full access.

  24. With hardly any G5 TV packages that produce any significant TV revenue for either school & the tight athletic budgets in this era, the series makes sense. (See the last paragraph in this 🙄manifesto, though). ••• Took a while, but UNT now has top-knotch football facilities, a nice adjacent to those venues athletic dormitory & looking at the last 3 years recruiting rankings by 247 has proven to quality talent that UNT (in deed) has something of its own to sell. Public vs. Private Texas universities have their respective percs & always have. In our history & as far as recruiting goes we’ve never seen our favorite school consistently go head to head with as many P5 schools as we did this last recruiting cycle (& we will still sign a few more before August 1’st). This is a trend I believe will continue. The racial diversity of UNT’s 41,000 enrollment school has always (IMO) been a plus if we’ll find a way of magnifying that (among other pluses). AD Wren Baker & Company actually seem to be doing that. ••• We just need to focus on the future (just like Bill Snyder & Kansas State did when all their Big 8/Big 12 series with their conference opponents were lopsided as they could be). Just win.

  25. Originally offered by Syaracuse, Memphis, NMSU, and ULM. Committed to Memphis, then backed out and committed to NMSU on signing day. https://247sports.com/Recruitment/Jason-Simmons-98919/RecruitInterests/ Started as a freshman at NMSU. #17 in video

  27. We have been beating out some high level G5 and low level P5 programs for HS recruits. And we have a 4 star QB coming in from UNC. I think you know that, which is why I'm kind surprised how myopic your above post seems.

  28. How would it have been a grades issue if he graduated? Or did he not actually graduate? He was billed as a grad transfer and immediately eligible because of it, before the NCAA made every first-time transfer eligible

  29. Dykes is a helluva coach and always has been. He has used the portal wisely to get DFW kids back home to get playing time and the opportunity for a degree from a highly regarded school. In the business world, within this region, SMU’s business school carries a lot of cachet and lots of athletes are attracted to the degree. They have that main advantage that few in the G5 can use.

  30. You give them way too much credit. They out recruit NT because they are in a better conference. Not some great recruiting strategy. The biggest factor in recruiting is conference affiliation. SMU has always had that great advantage over NT.

  35. He could’ve been pretty good with the right coaching. Chico wasn’t it. He tried too hard to make plays that he wasn’t polished enough to make at the FBS level. Once he dug a hole McCarney had all the reason he needed to keep his adopted son in for the remainder of the season. If Dajon had a Todd Dodge or Graham Harrell level quarterback coach, he very well could’ve been better than any quarterback we’ve had in the last 25 years outside of Mason Fine.

  36. I'm not totally sure why CBL threw this out there, because Kap was not just ignoring. It was clearly his protest to get people talking. You can't get people talking if you don't get noticed. Back on topic. On one hand, I agree with traditions. On the other, I don't want people doing this because "it's just what you do." I want people doing it because they want to. If you have a solution, I'm all ears.

  37. Anyone notice Walerius's tweets, he is consistently @'d by interested high school recruits trying to get his attention. Literally thousands of kids out there that want to play next level football. IMO, TxState went full-on JUCO intentionally.
