  2. The Touchdown Terrance seats are only too expensive (priced too high) if they don’t sell. The market will make that decision. GO MEAN GREEN

  3. In my twenty-five years of UNT fandom this might be the most attack-oriented offense we have ever had. The Dodge years could move the ball but we never had the quarterback/WRs combo that we have now. During that time, most of our game plans have revolved around playing the game close to the vest, letting the defense keep us in the game while taking well timed shots here and there. For the most part, especially in OOC games, it's never worked. I'm all for a balanced attack, especially over the long haul of the season but.... We should go right at SMU. We have an amazing QB and WRs. Use them soon and often. Mason makes a mistake? So be it, go right back at them. We should go into this game expecting to score fifty points. If we give up 35, who cares. I would say our WRs are so good we could keep an extra blocker to help protect and they could still get open. With this team, which I no longer consider young, we should go right at them. Use our strengths.

  4. On that list you’ve got two seniors who will open up starting spots after this year, three walkons who have proven very little at the division 1 level, and two true freshman who held I think just one other FBS offer between the two of them (Nixon and Hunt). I’m not saying that’s a bad group, but at the FBS level that’s about as favorable a situation as you’re going to get if you’re in Fulp’s shoes. Davis and the commits are solid, but if you’re scared about those younger guys taking your spot while older guys above you are opening up spots, then going JUCO is not going to solve your playing time problem.

Look at above. When has the HOD Bowl struggled with attendance? In 2015 and 2017, when they had poor match ups without a regional anchor to put butts in seats. Tech, Houston, Ok State, North Texas and La Tech did their job when presented with an opportunity. Attendance of 30,000 plus for a non marquee bowl match up is doing your job as far as I'm concerned. Hey idiot bowl organizers. Maybe don't match up teams from Utah and West Virginia and expect to blow the doors off the place. That type of match up will CERTAINLY interest casual fans in TEXAS. Texas Tech vs. North Texas this past year would have created an incredible atmosphere and a fun game for TV. Too bad the "P5" programs focus all their energy in bowl season doing back flips to avoid playing non power conference teams. It's to the detriment of college football. Just want to point out this isn't a CUSA issue. If we send North Texas, La Tech, UTSA, Rice or UTEP up against a reasonable Big 10 or Big 12 opponent (like the bowl is supposed to have yearly), our conference can easily hold up our end of the bargain.

  6. Point is, if he doesn’t think he has a good shot at future playing time because of walkons and dudes in high school, he may struggle trying to find a program with a situation that he finds favorable from a competition standpoint.

  8. I just watched that entire game last night, and I forgot how stale and unproductive our offense got from the 2nd quarter all the way until that last drive. The offensive woes leading up to it make that drive all the more impressive. No, it's not surprising that play won the #1 play last season. But does anyone else find it strange that C-USA refs are publicly ranking the best plays in C-USA?

  12. I read the Athlon article referenced... After reading the comments regarding the other "top half" teams in both the east and the west.... I came away with this: The rest of the conference does not think favorably of UNT and aren't scared of them compared to the other front runners.... They LOVE La Tech....LOVE UAB.....but basically UNT is a fun offensive team but nothing else This is a good thing

  13. Why do I get the feeling that were that game against UT instead of UTSA that the refs would've have called that an incomplete pass or Bussey out of bounds at the 15 capped with some sort of offensive penalty?

  14. 1. SMU - Sets the tone for the entire season. 3 years of frustrations to take out on the Ponies in front of the Mean Green faithful to start the season off with a bang. 2a. Arkansas (if we win) - A potential program-changing win. 2b. UAB - Last year's nail-biter at Apogee was the difference between us winning the West & UAB winning the West. This year, the game's at their house, & they'll have ambitions of winning the West as well with all of their returning players. High stakes. 3. LATech - Glad we have them at home, this game kicks off C-USA play. Need to show the rest of C-USA West we're still on top and the pre-season darlings aren't ready to step up to the throne yet. 4. FAU - Got 'em at home. Revenge time. Send a message to all of C-USA that we're going to win it all this year. 5. UTSA - The Roadrunner's Super Bowl is in the Alamodome this year. They're going to give everything for our game, as usual. Can't be asleep for this one. 6. USM - Keep our foot on the rest of the West division's contenders necks. 7/8. Rice/UTEP - either order, we start getting into the part of the schedule where we should be expected to win, but these are C-USA West & Texas teams, so they mean a little more. Both teams have new coaches, so they'll be in a transition, but they were just awful last year, so I expect a little improvement from both teams. 9. ODU - On paper, this is the trap game of the season. ...On the road ...right before FAU. DO NOT OVERLOOK the Monarchs. If the team stays focused, this should be an easy win. 10a. Arkansas (if we lose) - Get out of there with a good showing, no injuries & a big check. No one expecting us to win this game anyway, so we're playing with house money (literally, over $1million). 10b/c. UIW/Liberty - These two teams lost to FCS Central Arkansas (UIW) & Jacksonville St. (Liberty) last year by a combined 67 points. Any team that is serious about contending for a C-USA championship will destroy either of these teams.

  15. Come on @Brett Vito. You cover North Texas so get us some pictures of the new endzones instead of some Clemson National Championship ring. Haha.

  16. This would be a cool song to play right before kick off (that is played after the hype video): Here's my hype video music suggestion. There's a clean version of this song. Also, it's too bad Apogee doesn't have an LED lighting system. You could do some cool lighting effects to pre- and post-game music.

  20. I didn't say a whole season of this, I said come out super aggressive against SMU. It'd be nice if the Ponies looked up and saw they were down 14-20 points rather than us playing catch-up against them. Get the lead, get the crowd into it and run the ball down their throat in the fourth quarter.

  21. I've gotten used to the high in the sky view. I've gone down to 105 a time or two, and the perspective throws me off. Hard for me to follow plays when looking at them from a level plane. I did, however, find myself in the north end zone for the winning touchdown against UTSA, and I have to say of all the plays I've ever seen at Apogee, including The Stand, being right on top of that play was the best moment I've ever had in the place.

  22. It's hard for a defense to consistently be greater than the sum of its parts. We need a few players to step up and be all conference performers. Especially in the front seven.

  23. 99 years ago, Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes explained that free speech did not extend to the right to yell fire in a crowded theater. Alex Jones and InfoWars by yelling about the existence of numerous non-existent fires has forfeited its spot in the free press.

  26. Rick. "Fuck White America" -- yes... it should be taken down. It has a total of 15 people that follow it. "Fuck the South" - - yes.. again.. sure... it has a curse word. ~1000 people follow it. "Islam will Rule The WORLD" -- has 200 people. But onto one that may have some decent followers: "It's going down" -- I don't follow it. But a quick scroll through and I don't see anything hateful or violent. They are Anarchists, but it seems in a sense like Libertarians are fairly anarchists. Anarchist doesn't mean burn the world down violent.. All in all, it has 25k followers. None of those seem to reach the level of conspiracy FIRE yelling like Alex Jones.

  27. Is that the problem? hmm.. Serious question - so please don't throw up a bunch of semi-famous people mocking the president. Where are the liberal conspiracies that are akin to yelling fire in a theater? Where are the conspiracies that lead eople into armed stand-offs with police on completely wild-ass theories (pizza-gate, Qanon, sharia law take-overs, deep-state satanism, pedophilia, etc)? I keep hearing about this double standard, but I haven't seen any - but I am completely open to being too close to the trees to see the forest.

  30. I was hoping the same thing. If he does get cut, I hope he ends up with the Steelers. I am biased though because I am a Steelers fan. With Le'veon Bell holding out for ridiculous money for a RB in this pass happy league, I think he could easily replace the pass production we lose from not having Bell. Outside of Bell, all the Steelers RBs are really just bruisers who are not good in the passing game or open field. Jeff is good in both of those. They would not need him to run a lot, just catch the ball in space and do what he does. Besides, the Steelers have had great success with Mean Green players. Three come to mind right away. "Mean Joe" Greene, Ron Shanklin, and Erric Pegram. All three played in Super Bowls with the Steelers.

  34. That’s far cheaper than a Club seat. Honestly, I am a little perturbed. We paid multi thousands to get the Club level, now you can pay 1000 for a season and have full access to the club. Most people never sit on their seats in the club anyway so you are giving 27 people access to the club for a much cheaper price. For my 4 seats and require donation it’s 3800 a season, on top of the large donation up front. With this you skip the large donation and basically pay the same amount a season.

  35. I will check that out to see if Wilson plays and how he does. All the San Francisco reporters keep saying that he will be cut at the end of preseason. They say he has a chance to make the practice squad, but not a good one. I hope he can prove them all wrong.
