  1. You say “Too many old fans and not enough new.” ? Well damn, and I was going to tell you about the 1913 game against TCU. We lost 13-0. JW Penders coached. Harry quarterbacked. No NIL, great beer.

  2. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe we are down to one scholarship left, and this could be a good get. The tweet is a little misleading, though. The 20.6 PPG number is for the three national tournament games (10, 28, 24). His season average was 14.8, but he put up 25+ in five regular season games. He had some bad games but still shot 49% for the season from 3-point land. His FT percentage could be better for a guard (74.6). Local product from Mesquite and Dallas College. Don't think it takes green Kool-Aid to say we'd be the best option, unless he wants to get away from Texas for a bit. Three of his interested programs are from the Dakotas.

  3. It's horribly unfortunate that you have that situation, but there are probably better places than college forums to discuss the vices that are manifested from your "constant fear about what's between someone's legs". Brainwashing and mental manipulation by TikTok and other social media have reportedly been brutal to many other fragile and vulnerable teen girls in addition to yourself. There are legitimate recognized crisis support services that can offer therapy (many free) and can even defuse manifestations caused by programming to a hate induced woke ideology. We are a community here and hopefully posters can direct you towards helpful resources. God Bless and Best Wishes.

  4. Since that's a Dallas area juco......it's possible that we've offered him a walk on spot. I say that because.....the last time we got a juco player from the Dallas area.....he was a walk on....who eventually earned a scholarhip: The great JJ Murray. (arguably one of the best defenders....we've ever had).

  5. Scott Hall. Unfortunately, most of the answers are from my age or older. We need some Mason Fines and Andrew McNultys on here. And by that I mean we need young blood on the board. Too many old fans and not enough new.

  6. Sorry dude, we don't get to count the Bye week as a win. 😂 But I get why you'd want to. I'm with the author of this article... except, even with Coach Fritz & Pratt leaving... I don't think we beat Tulane. 5-7. Same record as last year, and that's hopeful. We just lost too much offensively, and our defense is a disaster.

  7. I'm so curious if this could eventually be the straw that breaks the back of mandatory student fees. It already feels rotten that you're requiring one student to pay for another student to go to school. Now, student-athletes are not only going to get school paid for but also get paid for NIL. It just doesn't feel sustainable that way either. I expect regular students to start pushing back at some point.

  8. As someone who was attending UNT when we went into the season ranked No. 1 in I-AA under the late great Corky Nelson, I think you overestimate the joys of life in college football's second tier. Let's say we drop a level, hire Jerry Moore and have the same juggernaut run that his App State team did -- three national titles, Michigan upset and all the rest. What did App State do after 13 years of FCS greatness? They moved up. Even with that incredible fan support in Boone, they said goodbye FCS hello Sun Belt. Would anyone there go back down even with today's madness?

  10. JJ was a walk-on but earned a scholarship after his first or second year. No time frame on when portal players sign. The only deadline is for when they must have entered the portal.

  11. I think we should hold on to that last spot and see if some higher rated guys in the portal don't find a home this summer.

  12. While I am not a fan of the portal madness....I never begrudge a kid when they leave....because of lack of playing time. And while lower down the "food chain".....Lamar and UAPB...are both Division 1.

  15. Huge disappointment after following the team from my little Central Texas town my senior year of high school. After years of mediocrity I was getting excited to see each W the Mean Green were taking until they #Hit6. Even though the Bulldogs ran up the score late, I was ecstatic getting to see my future school on linear TV keeping up with Georgia, 21-21. I was for sure they'd surprise an underwhelming Texas program to start off my student life. But hey, at least we got to shalack SMU the next week. I think Nicholls was two weeks later, too. Don't get to see your team put up 77 very often.

  21. Where are we now...1-AA > Big West > SLC > CUSA > to AAC in Football and other sports is excellent growth. Don't wreck it with a bad decision. We have moved up faster than most schools and bypassed a few like Southern Miss and Marshall. Patience is the plan. Over-reaction right now is not an intelligent move.

  22. So, hope is your plan. No forward thinking, innovating, rethinking collegiate sports, etc. Just.... hope. Hope has gotten us exactly where we are right now. Hope ain't it.

  23. What is that? This is just a made up term. The comment is italics is comedy gold. The Left refuses/can't even define what a woman is anymore. They are so delusional, I don't see how any woman could vote for them. As far as the CNN article, it is too bad the state school board official did that, as social media was not the appropriate means at all, but that is the world that the woke left has created.

  26. I don't think the current status quo in the transfer portal and NIL is how things are always going to be. It's too much of a trainwreck. Either the Wild West will be tamed or it will be replaced with a bigger trainwreck. In the meantime a good coach can still put a winning team on the field even if there's no multi-year continuity. Maybe Morris will show that he can take advantage of the chaos. Some coaches at our level will figure it out.

  29. My guess would be zero. Being an FBS head coach is worth more than any OC job he could get after going 5-7 in one season at UNT. When we go undefeated next season he will be running out to his mailbox each day to see what Power 4/3/2 schools are contacting him.

  37. Seeing Sports Illustrated die is a lot like watching Old Yeller get shot. It was once a beloved mainstay of our sports culture as it reviewed the past weeks biggest events, previewed the upcoming, and made superstars of those that graced its cover. Unfortunately, like Old Yeller, it was infected with a horrible virus (wokeism, not hydrophobia) that made it toxic and it needed to be put out of its misery.
