Was it just me or did it seem like RB Jimmerson had a short leash last night? I was a little disappointed in his performance (Mac and others had been hyping him in the offseason) but then again its LSU. I felt like Brown had the better game.

Whatever works is fine with me... Byrd had the most touches going into this game and did well on that long drive at the end of the game

Jimmerson is just a fr and will have a bit of time to prove his worth

Jimmerson(8 for 24) and Byrd(14 for 41) both finished with a 2.9 yard per carry average on the night.

J Brown did look good but he also fumbled there towards the end of the game. Looked like Mac really had some choice words with him about it!

I thought Jimmerson ran very hard and moved the stack a couple of times. All three backs had their moments but I doubt any rb is going to look very good against LSU unless they have an Alabama like offensive line.

Did one of those guys ever put up big numbers against LSU, Bama, UT, OU, et al? I mean, besides Colorado- which was a middling-at-best Big 12 program at the time- I don't think our guys ever put up big numbers against "big programs".

I thought Jimmerson showed a good speed burst when he found a seam, which was nice, considering our O-line was massively out-matched. Hard to really know what we have at that position after just one game.

Pretty harsh considering they were facing a National Championship caliber defense with a 6'5" and 240 lbs. DE that ran a 4.4.

Did one of those guys ever put up big numbers against LSU, Bama, UT, OU, et al? I mean, besides Colorado- which was a middling-at-best Big 12 program at the time- I don't think our guys ever put up big numbers against "big programs".

Good info. Which basically confirms what I previously thought: against ELITE BCS teams, we've never been able to get a running game going (I don't really consider KSU, Clemson, or Colorado "elite", but we've clearly had more success against them).

Which we shouldn't feel bad about: most teams they play won't be able to establish any kind of consistent run game.

I think Jimmerson was on a short leash too. But, I think he was the best of the RBs. He and Byrd run with some power, but Jimmerson seems to have more of a burst. Mac was really hacked off at Brown when he fumbled the ball. I don't think he had the better game.

Our O-Line did a good job vs these guys. The ESPN announcers commented on it more than once. Our guys really made the Twin Terrors (49 & 99) a "Non-Factor" in the game.
