Do I understand correctly that Flanagan has to pass the fans in and out of the press box? I'm in Florida and follow the team on TV.

There's no excuse for Flanagan's behavior. Charging back into the stands and threatening to kick the fan's ass was just as inflammatory as the guy throwing the beer who ignited the Pacers/Pistons riot.

It's ironic that Ramon would go ballistic on fans during a game when his offense can't be blamed for the loss. They scored 28 and Meager threw his best pass of the year in that touchdown to Johnny Quinn.

Adler and I were leading the chorus of boos when FFR was led out, but I didn't see the incident w/ RF. If it's true he threatened a fan beacause someone questioned the obvious lack of coaching, then RV should fire him immediatly. That is totally uncalled for and un-professional.

On a personal note, adios mo-fo. And take your sorry, middle school offensive game plan with you. You won't be missed! mad.gif

RF's actions were definitely ill-advised and completely unacceptable, but why celebrate the actions of the fan at the same time? I don't know if it was the same fan, but during the second quarter there was a fan, just below the coaches box, shouting some less than 'PG' insults at the coaches....this guy sat near the area where all this happened. IF this was the same guy (I didn't see the incident at half-time), he said MUCH more than "you are being outcoached".....

I would also wager that we see absolutely no response to this from the AD or DD. While, at the very least, a public apology from RF should be issued.

Unreal. Get the guy the hell out of here. This incident pushes the problem far past poor play calling.

Why is RF so obsessed with trying a play, someone missing an assignment, lining it up again, and running the same play (with the same negative results). He did this twice in the fourth quarter...and once Meager was so keyed in on getting the ball to the tight end on the roll out that he completely missed a wide open Quinn downfield. I've seen flag football teams in the City of Southlake league with better offensive creativity.

Cobbs had a great game though, and the defense played well despite never being able to quite figure out that crazy option offense. We just needed that one stop...couldn't get it.

emmitt corect me if I'm wrong, but Silver could file charges of a making Terroristic Threat against Flannigan.

For saying "I'm going to kick your Ass!"

If you want to be REAL specific , and no it wouldn't go anywhere, I guess so. It would be a class C verbal assault if the exact wording was "I'm gonna kick your ass" because he definitely had opportunity and, from right there in his face, means. If, on the other hand, he said something to the effect of "I'll kick your ass" which isn't an active threat but more of a 'warning' if you will, then no nothing there. All in all not something I'd put too much concern into.

Yes, Fouts has no pressbox elevator so when the coaches in the pressbox leave at halftime to join their teams in the locker room they must walk down the stand's aisle past all the fans; same when they return up to the pressbox. Normally no security is with them, even for visiting coaches, and most pass with nothing being said unless something good-natured to the visiting coaches. Last night RF had a security guard and athletic staff escorting him back up. tongue.gif

On a side note, RV was not in the President's box like he normally is and didn't see either incident; then I remembered he was in South Ala. for the soccer championship. I bet he gets a full report when he returns, hopefully from both sides. dry.gif

I would love to hear Flanny's side of the story:

So I am walking down the isle holding a puppy and reading a bible, when a GMG poster punched me and then punted the puppy. I tried to keep on walking but was threatened yet again when FireFightn Rick stapled a tortilla on my back that had 'kick me' written on it. That was the last straw............

yall saw the rest.

You left out the part where he was leading the long line of starving Ethiopian children to the food storage room under the stadium. Appartently the CSC guys had collected it in their quest to end world hunger. You should have seen the tears in those children's eyes when perfectly good (and lethal) tortillas were thrown onto the track like yesterdays garbage. dry.gif

Well actually I believe at the time that happened, we were losing 7-21. After the incident occurred we started scoring...maybe all Flanny needed was some...inspiration??

Here's something else. Flanny is head of recruiting for DFW.  Wasn't somone saying something about why we don't get more DFW recruits?

Wow, there's a shocker.

We signed ZERO recruits from Flannigan's schools last year and I believe only one the year before. Harry, please correct me if I'm wrong.

I've maintained it and still believe it -- 8 years no change in game plans -- wins only because we are play the bottom of the barrel and then the coaches get upset with fans for pointing out the obvious.

I guess it is the fans against the coaches -- the coaches lose because without fans there is no game.  sad.gif

Bingo...that's it. When you play teams 110-117 every year, I hope you DO rack up some wins. We all know that being the SB Champ does not mean sh*t in the scheme of things. We need a new coach now, one who can actually coach against I-A teams.

We all knew that the rest of the SB would catch up to us at some point; it was nice while it lasted. The problem is that the rest of the SB is really not much better than last year, if it is actually worse than last year...
