Hopefully he may contribute 16-20 minutes per game by year 3. His physique passes the eye test but he is not the big time recruit to get excited about. He played AAU ball with DJ Hall (Southern Assault) of undefeated/state champion Plano East Panthers. They appear to be good friends as well. Hall is a 6-6 beast around the basket and more impressive(though his recruiting list is not much better).
I think we will have 8 positions to fill in the 2025 class so I'm ok with his potential.
I'll repeat the reports of food running out. Specifically, I and others had to wait on fries and/or chicken strips. It was going to be a couple of minutes for frys (no biggie), but 10 minutes for chicken strips?!?! Maybe it was simply bad luck and timing.
Also, the Cokes (Mr. Pibb) tasted odd. Tried two places. Seemed like the syrup was turned down. Possibly another form of shrinkflation. I appreciate they still have the free refills.
Although it wasn't hot, I like the presence of the water stations. Cool water should be available to event patrons w/o having to buy a $4 bottle of water and these stations are much better than a simple water fountain. Good job.
I was irritated that the band didn't wear uniforms given the nice weather UNTIL I saw the combined event at halftime with the other HS bands that weren't in uniform.
I think that made for a better integrated environment, so I gave them a pass on the decision.
I always got a strong signal. It's just that the bandwidth wasn't available.
For cell service, you're completely limited to the number of local towers for the specific providers which can be augmented with temporary towers but that is an expense that isn't really practical for 20,000 people for 3hrs.
But I'll say again, the stadium was sponsored/named for a company that is literally in the business of providing networking services to large universities. Granted, the task of providing Internet connectivity for a short-term event isn't their primary business, but given their experience and that they were directly associated with the stadium should have been enough for them to find a solution that wasn't based on cell service.
