How did you arrive at the conclusion that he will be a dark horse to start.  At least, that is what I take your thread title to mean.

Feels like a good development prospect. Since we didn't get a guy from high school in the 2023 class, and he looks to be a redshirt freshman, I imagine he'll be sitting and learning this year and competing for the spot next year.

But who knows, maybe he'll come firing out the gates and straight beat the rest of the guys. Nice offer list out of high school.

He took his services to Purdue. I guess he wanted bland food and snow in the winter.

Translation- They added another quarterback to the roster that has the same chance at taking North Texas game snaps this season as Austin Aune and Grant Gunnell do.
