If we can win Thursday, that should put us in a very good position. We need to pack the Pit this Thursday and cheer on the MBB team. It would be super nice if the WBB team can beat LaTech on that same day in Ruston.

Midd Tenn lost to Rhode Island.

I know they lost everything but Western Kentucky is able to reload why not them?

Difference is their coach left and they had 3 or 4 players leave/dismissed right before the school year started. They also have a few players sitting out this season. I think they’ll be back to being competitive next year, just not sure to what degree.

Lest we forget, WKU had a losing record just two seasons ago.  Almost everyone has "down" seasons occasionally.

Ha!

WKU has way more tradition in basketball than we do (maybe than we ever will given they've actually made the Final Four before), so it's much rarer for them to go through extended droughts of success.

One has to go back about twenty years for the last time the Hilltoppers had a spell like Benford -- and they never fell quite as low as we did then.

Has anyone else had as low four stretches as we did?   We don't really have much of a storied past in football or basketball.  I do believe we are now on the right path for success.
