This was more in line with my question and about how much it would run me from Denton to Fair Park?

I would say hour and a half. I've never ridden to Fair Park but I've ridden it to the Stars game and it took FOREVER.

I wonder if there will be just the normal trains that day or if they will have some special game day ones like last time. 

This time it's a workday so maybe the transit authorities won't feel the need to do any "special" runs.

If in Denton, get the regional pass for $10.00 includes both A-Train & DART

It is about an hour and 40 minutes to get from Downtown Denton to Fair Park.

To memory, at the UNT sponsored tailgate, beer was $7 and bloody marys were $9.

I don't want to put words in @Ryan Munthe's mouth (I really don't want to put anything in his mouth, truth be told), but I'd think that if they were going to charge money at the EastOakStArnold tailgate, they'd need a special TABC permit to do so, and I bet they don't have a special TABC permit.

It's a good way to go.  Last time we did it we had to change trains in downtown Dallas at the main sub station  I believe.  That has been awhile ago.  Either way I advise to take train but If green line will take you straight from Trinity to Fair Patk now that's even better.  I would be surprised if UNT doesn't offer some type of bowl day train promotion.

The Green Line, which is the one coming from Denton-way, goes right to Fair Park, so once you are on, you're set!
