McCarney: UNT won’t pull redshirts off East Texas WRs

It's disappointing for me that these guys are redshirting, because I always hope for true freshmen to come in and start playing. To me that means they are not only talented, but also hard working. See Jeff Wilson, Tillman Johnson this year. Both of those guys are exciting for what the future holds.

This is also an unofficial way of determining our recruiting is improving.

If there are any playmakers sitting on the bench wearing a red shirt it would behoove the coaching staff to get them on the field now.

There may not be a football season next year. It's very possible that even this year could be suspended with what's going on in the world today.

Go for it all now while you still have the opportunity for tomorrow you may not. Don't waste that talent in hopes of having a good team next year. Next year may not happen.

Huh? You know something we don't? Is the second coming happening on the offseason?

So in other words, "prove your love"?

If that were true, this year wouldn't matter either

Being talented and being ready are two different things.

Those two kids will be the most talented and competitive receivers UNT has had in a while.

Anyone griping about lack of depth, but arguing for the sake of burning the redshirts, doesn't know how building depth at the FBS level works.

Building depth takes playing time. I know that. When you have a Goree-like player out there already running around making plays for this offense then sitting him would be called building depth. If we can win 6 without Rutherford or Goree playing then this is a good move, but if they could give this offense a spark then it's a bad move. Time will tell and it may take next year to see if they were good enough to contribute as true freshmen.

just a few quick edits and you verbatim nailed my line when sitting next to a cute girl on an airplane when we hit a patch of turbulence.
