This team was at 100% health and ended that game 12-6 (5-1 in conference). I just can’t help but think this team, if Rubin and CJ never go down and we stay in our normal game to game rhythm, is sitting at maybe 3-4 conference losses right now.6 points

Honestly who cares anymore? This realignment stuff has gotten so stupid.5 points

I've been going to home games since 1959 (first grade). When we were in the Missouri Valley Conference we regularly hosted final four teams from the previous year. 2/25/1961 Cincinnati 2/3/1962 Cincinnati 1/10/1963 Cincinnati (Natl. Champs) 2/8/1964 Cincinnati 3/3/1966 Wichita State 2/10/1970 Drake We won} 1/27/1973 Louisville (We won) 2/9/1974 Memphis (we won) 12/16/1980 Hosted #1 DePaul at the Super Pit (Final Four team two seasons prior)5 points

Big takeaway from today's game is our balanced scoring, even without contribution from Aaron (and our three-point shooting). Five players in double figures, all under 20, so not having to lean on one player. Jason's shot wasn't there early but he started making them later on. Liked that Stone dared to put it up a few more times today, just wish one or two had gone in.4 points

With our win over ECU today, we have clinched no lower than the #7 seed. There are still three teams ahead of us currently that we could finish ahead of (Memphis - we own head-to-head, UAB - they win head-to-head, SMU - split season series), but we do not play any of them in our last two games. Here's what all three of those teams have left: Memphis: 3/9 at FAU UAB: 3/7 at Temple, 3/10 vs. SMU SMU: 3/6 vs. ECU, 3/10 at UAB There could be a great shot that three or four teams tie with 11 conference wins. At that point, I'm not sure what the tiebreaker is. If you haven't seen it yet, here's what the conference tournament schedule would be with the seeding. Like I've talked about for a month now, the 6 or 7 seed would be better for game times to maximize homecourt advantage. #6 could likely avoid FAU until the semifinal. https://theamerican.org/tournaments/?id=294 And if the tournament started today: 2024 American Men's Basketball Championship Schedule Wednesday, March 13 Game 1 – No. 13 Tulane vs. No. 12 UTSA – 1 p.m. ET/Noon CT | ESPN+ Game 2 – No. 14 Temple vs. No. 11 Wichita State – 3 p.m. ET/2 p.m. CT | ESPN+ Thursday, March 14 Game 3 – No. 9 Tulsa vs. No. 8 East Carolina – 12:30 p.m. ET/11:30 a.m. CT | ESPNU Game 4 – Tulane/UTSA vs. No. 5 UAB – 2:30 p.m. ET/1:30 p.m. CT | ESPNU Game 5 – No. 10 Rice vs. No. 7 UNT – 7 p.m. ET/6 p.m. CT | ESPNU Game 6 – Temple/Wichita State vs. No. 6 SMU – 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT | ESPNU Friday, March 15 Game 7 – Tulsa/ECU vs. No. 1 South Florida – 1 p.m. ET/Noon CT | ESPN2 Game 8 – Game 4 winner vs. No. 4 Memphis – 3 p.m. ET/2 p.m. CT | ESPN2 Game 9 – Game 5 winner vs. No. 2 FAU – 7 p.m. ET/6 p.m. CT | ESPNU Game 10 – Game 6 winner vs. No. 3 Charlotte – 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT | ESPNU Saturday, March 16 Game 11 – Semifinal 1, Game 7 winner vs. Game 8 winner – 3 p.m. ET/2 p.m. CT | ESPN2 Game 12 – Semifinal 2, Game 9 winner vs. Game 10 winner – 5 p.m. ET/4 p.m. CT | ESPN2 Sunday, March 17 Game 13 – Championship, Game 11 winner vs. Game 12 winner – 3:15 p.m. ET/2:15 p.m. CT | ESPN3 points

This team is senior heavy and should be much better. Pitching is not as good as it was just a few years ago. And, our bats are continuing to struggle. Overall, this team looks much like it did most of last season. That is not a complement. I'm beginning to wonder if De Long has taken this program as far as he can? Personally, I expected this program to be competing with Top 25 programs by now.3 points

Memphis is dangerous when they're hitting on all cylinders. They went on a 22-0 run in about five minutes of game time.3 points

After seeing UTSA beat SMU, I will chalk that one up to our injured players having some rust to dust off. This game was a good testament to that. Both Rubin and CJ played some damn good ball. I will include myself in this, but we have to get our numbers up!! 2 pages for a game thread is low!!3 points

Good game and W today! Nice to put a complete game together. Great to see Rubin have such a good game. Dominated the hustle stats. Press break looked much cleaner and more efficient. Allen continues to play well for us. Measuring stick game against FAU next. Looking forward to that one.3 points

1. If you are counting on other teams to fill your stadium then you are SMU. 2. Wyoming is a very good team and a measuring stick for where we are as a program. They were 9-4 last year! 3. You need to beat upper-level Mid-majors if you want to start establishing a foundation to build on.3 points

Next time you ask yourself that, think about this. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/2024/03/01/after-loss-in-court-the-ncaa-is-pausing-investigations-into-third-party-nil-deals-with-athletes/72810794007/ Anytime they have tried to wrangle in NIL they have been unable to, due to the antitrust laws in this country. It's simply not possible to enforce rules that hinder a person's ability to be compensated. The big schools want it to be this way, they knew what this would bring. So can we collectively agree that the problem is not from a lack of trying from the NCAA?2 points

This is just silly. They assume that, if FSU, UNC, Louisville, and Clemson leave, there will be ANY reason for a network to renegotiate (or honor) a contract without the four biggest brands left in what is already the weakest "power" conference. I could much more easily see the Big 10, SEC, and Big XII eating up every brand that's worth a damn (because they'd jump at any life raft at that point) and leaving the rest on their own.2 points

I worry that we will draw Memphios and they seem to be finding themselves. This conference is a murderers row.2 points

Memphis (at home) was losing to UAB at halftime 46-61. Memphis in 2nd half outscores UAB 60-26 to win 106-87.2 points

I'd prefer not playing FAU as late as possible. Even should we beat them on Wednesday, they're the team I least want to play in the tourney - even over USF. Once the regular season is over and March Madness really begins, I feel like they'll flip the switch. We all saw what they are capable of last year.2 points

Right now the 7 seed gets FAU. I'd rather play Charlotte than the Owls.2 points

If I got choose, I’d take the #6 seed. That’s assuming we don’t get the #4 seed.2 points

On a serious note, it is crazy to me that Waco just finished expanding I-35 to eight lanes while it forever for Denton to get to six, and Fort Worth to Denton is still only four. Meanwhile I never have to exit there, but seeing all the development in Argyle and Robson Ranch area makes me mad for the people who have to suffer a two-lane FM 407 everyday.2 points

NIL value is such a complicated topic. We talking their open market value or what it takes to keep everyone around? Because those numbers are different.2 points

I'd like to hear others' thoughts on this, but instead of targeting a bunch of P5 role players/non-scorers in the portal (Allen, though I've loved his play, Walker, Noland, etc.) why don't we look for a couple more of the kids who are used to scoring 15-20ppg at the lower DII, DIII, NJCAA, NAIA levels, like TP and Edwards? Don't get me wrong, I love the guys we brought in, but besides Edwards, none of them were the go-to guys for their previous teams, and too often this year Jason had been virtually all of our offense.2 points

And if Walker started the season we pick up another 3-4 out of conference wins. Maybe top 25 team.2 points

Nice win today. Took control in the first half and never let ECU back in the game. A crowd of 4,241, pushed our season average to 4,102 which is a 9.33% increase over last season's average of 3,752. Well done Mean Green Nation! We have one more home game (one more than last season as well). FAU has fallen out of the top 25, but we still need to bring a good crowd and get a win that has eluded us against the Owls. GMG!2 points

But fear not Rudy! Because more and more school boards are pushing for an "abstinence-based" sex education program. Unwanted pregnancies and dysfunctional new parents are soon to be a thing of the past.... therefore, making your job much easier.2 points

I’ll have none of that nonsense!!! Chandler Morris was 100% never truly committed to North Texas (though there’s zero evidence to back this up), and was 100% headed to Texas State as a way to secure his father’s commitment as a coach (though there’s zero evidence to back this up), and he 100% only stayed committed to North Texas when Texas State got the guy they wanted all along who had been available in the portal for three months (though there’s zero evidence to back this up).2 points

Thank y’all for the kind words. You know I’ve always felt like one of the most blessed people on earth for being able to share life with three different families. My family at home, my fire family at work and my Mean Green family. Emergency workers need their families to de stress and take their thoughts of the shift somewhere else, and this family, my Mean Green family has certainly done that for me. Whether we are fighting over our opinions on subjects of the moment, or loving each other in celebrating Mean Green successes…it’s all been a family to me and helped me focus on happier times. My last shift yesterday was an overwhelming day of emotion, reflection and joy seeing family and friends and coworkers one last time at the station. I greatly appreciate hearing from so many of you, and was especially proud seeing @SilverEagle repping the Mean Green at my station, as well as his Mean Green alumn son Jeff, or as he’s known now on the FWFD, Chief Covert. I hope to make more games now, hopefully more road games, though my wife’s Honey-Do list has now grown longer than a @PlummMeanGreen post on national “Stadium Day”. So I’ll see how it goes. So till the next tailgate,….It’s All Good And All Green. Rick2 points

They should have done this 15 years ago before the stadium opened. That tiny rural road going in there is pitiful.2 points

We'll sell out against Wyoming if they very cleverly market that we're playing the Cowboys.2 points

One could just as easily blame alumni or Denton area residents given there are hundreds of thousands. The reality is it's growth. We just need to to continue! We average 4100+ this year...shoot for 4500+ next year, etc..1 point

Have not heard much on the recruiting front. Next year will really tell the tale, a LOT of talent to replace!1 point

Well, if we roll out that 3-3-5 defensive, or whatever the hell it was, I have my doubts if our next season in the American will be successful.1 point

What Wyoming brings is a respectable G5 team that has been to four bowls the past five years and won three of them. Gimme more home and homes like this.1 point
