If it makes you guys feel better, you guys are going to whip us in football in the coming years. You guys are trending up, we are trending down. It is cyclical.

Yep...it wont...and the new coach will be able to better the players, not make them worse...recruiting and coaching is two different things...Dodge could recruit...couldn't coach...

Seriously?? They just whipped Cincy straight up. We need to face it SMU is legit, they took a chance on Larry Brown and have hit the jackpot.

And a few years ago it was the opposite. It's all cyclical unless your one of those big time teams in a big time conference ;which neither of us are. 5 years down the line it could be flipped again. Although SMU does have a very nice stadium. Is day I hope UNT builds one.

Ok Cerebus (because I absolutely believe this is a bit at this point), your right. The 2 coaching hires have absolutely nothing to do with it. It's just all cyclical.

Just keep telling yourself that, Andrew,... Or Skiver,... or Cerebus...

I have no clue who Cerberus even is...

I didn't say it did not have anything to do with coaching. I am just saying give it 5 years and it could easily be flipped. Maybe SMU does turn into a power house who knows. But UNT will be right back on top at some point in the next 5 years I would think. Either way I will pick UNT over SMU all day.

It will take awhile to build it bc a lot of wasted talent left last year and is leaving this year. Not only is Benford tearing the program up, but he might very well leave an extremely bare cupboard to work with after he gets dismissed.

He is bringing in some pretty good recruits this go around including Jeremy combs who is solid. Won't be to bare if someone else takes over.

SMU hires a bonafide, proven basketball coach, we take a guy they didn't want.

Anyone surprised by the lightening speed at which they have become relevant while we have fallen off the face of the college basketball earth?

It always helps in turning it around quicker when you come in and tell your bottom 5 to find another school.
