Bad karma.

Our fans have been a complete embarrassment on the message boards the last two weeks. Maybe we should cool it on the racist, sexist, cocky smack talk.

Maybe the mods on this board should step up and think about our school reputation.

I don't really believe in that. We lost because we got our ass handed to us. Need to give them their due.

That's like UTSA fans coming over here and saying they won because we fans play around on the internet.

To do so minimizes their own accomplishments and doesn't take responsibility for what really happened. They prepared, played and coached better than we did.

Honestly, I haven't spent enough time on the boards in the last couple of weeks to know about all that, so how come my team lost? And what's up with all the bird avatars? Oh, I forgot, they had a good game plan and executed it well.

1) reference the movie goodfellas. The whole exchange between Billy Bats and Tommy had neither racial nor ethnic connotations. It was saying the only thing he was good for was what he used to do when he initially started his "career"-shine people's shoes. If it is ethnic or racial in any capacity, I'm not aware of it but offer embarrassed apologies.

2) while i suppose I could have screamed at the radio louder, I was already alarming my wife/infant/dog. But I will be louder and more profane to put the team in a better position to win.

We lost because:

1. Their offense moved the ball efficiently, and our defense was worn down.

2. 3rd and long wasn't a problem for them.

3. DT couldn't complete key passes. Some were dropped that could've been caught. Maybe cold hands, I dunno...

4. Their QB could really Zip that ball on a rope. Always seems like our passes float forever.

5. They plugged the middle, but by God we were gonna keep running it there.

Just felt like another Tulane where both teams had two weeksto prepare. UTSA looked sharp and prepared like they watched hours of game film and UNT took it for granted.

      It's easier for us to say it's fun since we're not the ones who have to recruit an entire new team every year, but it's honestly exciting to see how the new team is built. The max exodi of beloved players sucks, but in this new age losing guys like TP, Drez, Rubin and Aaron doesn't have to mean a several-year rebuild. Now we can "retool" and even get better. I think this year was more of a gut punch because it felt to me and many others that Rubin and Aaron were Mean Green for life. They've been the constant leaders throughout the past turnover. But even healthy we weren't the most talented team in the conference. And I trust Hodge. The past seven years Grant and Hodge have run a clean program and as much as I love the guys who have played for us, I trust Hodge and Forte will continue recruiting players who will be good representatives of the university, even if only for a year. I also agree we need two more PF's - at least one who can space the floor shooting 3's. Assuming we have at least three scholarships left, so assume we'll see another guard. I'd like to see us bring on one guy who's averaged 18PPG or more. Doesn't matter which position though it'd be a nice changeup for it to be a high scoring big man.

      Weather has become a factor in a lot of games this season. Wet spring has really made this softball season pleasant. Feel like we had several 90+ degree games last season.
