As I recall, we went up to Stillwater and beat a Top 5 Okie Lite team and then the following week at The Rob, we sent a ranked Texas Tech team back home to Lubbock in tears. Oh, I can't forget going up to Starkville and beating SEC Mississippi State. All in a span of 5 games. Nice try though.

UNT wouldn't have went 12-0 with our "weak" schedule from last year. We blew you guys out in your own home opener and then you got wrecked by Tulsa. We went up to Tulsa and humiliated them on TV beating them by 32 points. Again, nice try.

That wasn't the question (greggo voice)

Just so I get this straight, thinking like a winner means assuming you'll lose against good teams and thusly scheduling as weak a competition as you can?

No. You schedule 1 BCS opponent that you gear up for, 1 decent team AQ or Non-AQ and then a bunch of patsies and run the table. We did it, Boise did it, Hawaii did it, TCU did it, Utah did it and as of right now Ohio U and La Tech are doing it.

Body bag games have the potential to devalue the entire conference as well. If CUSA implemented a restriction on body bag games, the entire conference value would go up from a TV contract standpoint because it would directly impact the amount of home games that the conference teams would control, and could therefore sell. While at the same time, potentially devaluing other conferences that are normally the home teams due to lesser home games, or lesser quality home games.

This might be where a CUSA / MWC / maybe even nBE scheduling alliance could add value to both conferences by increasing each conference's inventory of reasonably interesting home games for their teams. Trouble is that it's like trying to ask a drug addict to kick their habit because on the surface it seems like quick money. The nBE already seems to do it (although not 100% sure, there might be occasional game). If CUSA and MWC also eliminated these games, it seems like it would help establish a clear message about the conferences and in what regard they hold themselves.

This. This. and This.

I've been saying this for years. At worst you should come out 2-2, if things go right 3-1, pull off an upset and your 4-0 heading into conference play.
