My Leach Firing Theory

As Auburn's HFC, Tommy Tuberville lured Troy's spread offense guru, Tony Franklin,

away from Troy, as OC, and to install Franklin's spread ofense.

Franklin tired to install his spread offense at Auburn, but was fired by Tuberville weeks later, after several

losses. Tuberville took over the OC position for the remaining season, saying he would run the spread

offense himself, because Franklin did not know what he was doing.

Franklin went on the MTSU, and developed a very good MTSU offensive team.

Tuberville is known for his outbursts against his team and coaches, and putting the blame for the losses

on his staff. Tuberville had a merry go round of assistants in and out trying to save his Auburn gig, and

with big money Auburn alumni becoming very displeased with the way Tuberville was running the show,

Tuberville was fired.

IMHO, I think Tech could do much better than Tuberville.

Heck, Tech should at least take a look at Tony Franklin with their search for a new HFC.

IMHO, I think Tech could do much better than Tuberville.

In 14 seasons at Ole Miss and Auburn, Tuberville compiled a record of 110-60. He led nine of those 14 squads to bowl games.

Whether at Ole Miss or Auburn, no squad of Tuberville ever gave up more than 281 points in a season - even in the three losing seasons he had over a 14 years stretch, those most points allowed in a losing season by a Tuberville-coached squad was 270.

In 170 games as a head coach, no school ever scored 50 or more on a Tommy Tuberville coached team.

Tuberville's 2004 squad went 13-0 and might have had a better shot at beating USC than OU did. We'll never know.

The bar is set very high at Auburn. Tuberville reached it most of the time. He'd more than reach it at Texas Tech. He's an excellent football coach.

If there is one place that Mike Leach SHOULD be the head coach it would be for the Oakland Raiders...yes, indeed, a marriage made in heaven. But, if he thinks working for the Tech Admin is tough, just wait until he gets a feel for Al Davis leadership style. Maybe good ole Al has mellowed a bit in his old age, but this seems perfect for Leach if true! Cannot wait to see how this would work out...the press conferences will, indeed, be so very much fun to watch.

Man, I so hope this comes to pass...Leach in Oakland...be still my heart! Too funny to imagine...only in the world of Al Davis (or maybe Jerry Jones) could this even be mentioned....:lol::nuke::thumbsup:

James and his son were just an excuse for Tech to fire Leach. They would have found another excuse otherwise.

Yeah. The many December 2008/January 2009 e-mails between Hance, Myers, the school attorney and that float scenarios of how to get rid of Leach. That's why Leach will get his money out of the Tech idiots.

The smartest thing George W. Bush ever did was to not use e-mail. You'd think Hance, an attorney, and the school's attorney would have been smart enough to think through what they were writing back and forth. But....
