Couple of things:

1)I don't care what anyone says about not liking the all aluminum stadium...that place looks awesome with people in it and is rockin. I'd take it tomorrow.

2)UT already has their first massively blown call go their way. 4th and 1 inside the red zone they set up for a field goal. They fake it and get the first down. Only one problem though, the play clock had been expired for 2-3 seconds.

That's funny...I wish UT would figure out how to lose every game.

I am a TEXAN.... I support any Texas team against outsiders.... unless the outsider is a SunBelt team (exception SMU ...because of their attitude toward us)_)

Though I occassionally might root for them to upset someone because it will effect the rankings in a favor I'd like - that's basically how I feel. SMU might have tried to keep our athletics down, but UT tried to keep our school down(granted they tried to keep almost every public college down because they wanted to stay the only University) back in our first 30-40 years. They made it very hard for us to grow and survive, and quite honestly we could've died.

Just read The History of North Texas.

You are right somewhat...(I own it and have read it**) .... but that really has not been the case in the past 40 years. They (Darrell Royal) scheduled us when none of the Texas SWC member teams would. Arkansas (an out of state team) did a couple of times about 1970 but during the 50's 60's and 70's the rest ignored us and would not put us on their schedule.. .Houston did but they were not yet SWC members..

Also Darrell Royal (UT) and Frank Broyle (UA) lobbyed for us being in the SWC... SMU did us in when they convinced TCU and Baylor to vote with them against us. We needed 7 of the 9 members to vote yes... but received 6....thanks to SMU and their efforts.....

** much of that time between 1920-1940 ecomonic conditions in Texas were tough and all colleges were fighting for funding and to survive including UT. it was a completely different world then..... many didn't.
