Phillips better start next week!

you beat me to the punch! I totally agree...Phillips needs to start the rest of the season. We already know what Meager has to offer. Phillips came into a tough situation and showed some poise. I would like to see more!!!

Now don't get me wrong- Meager has potential. He looked alright against ULL (minus the INT and the almost-INT).

But Matt came in without notice, with part of the game time already elapsed, and racked up 23 points. I like this guy.

Funny how people took shots agains Phillips.

When I watched the scrimmages before the season I thought Phillips was a bit better, but I thought it was just because Meager was still recovering his shoulder, although I gave Phillips extra points for being a true freshman...with the season going the way it is, give Phillips the start...

If DM actually has a concussion he will definately be out a week. MP will start next week no question as he has earned it anything less would be a mistake by DD. You have to promote players when they go all out and show you that they can lead a team. Look at the Titans and Brad. Only one quarter of play is way too early to deem MP the QB of NTs future, but it is definately enough to give him a call back. I would have really liked to see the game on TV to see him in action rather than just hear the announcers. Here's to being at Homecoming!

You are definately right about checking receivers. There were more than a few times this game and all season that Meager threw to JQ in triple coverage. There had to be someone open or more open than that atleast.

Speaking of JQ, did he have a reception this game? I can only remember deflections for him...

Reminds me of the Tt game in Lubbock when Scott Hall was a frosh and nearly pulled out. Phillips has the swagger you need at QB. The team sees it and responds.

Just the fact that MP came in the game and had the sense to hurry to the line and snap the play quickly after the onside kick shows that he is ahead of Meager...Meager would have called a timeout.
