I don't think we are under any serious consideration.

And I love all my bracketology blogs and pods, but I don't think any of the major sports news guys are thinking of us in any way other than "on the outside looking in."

The only glimmer of hope I can find is that, apparently, very few bid-stealers emerged this year.  But I haven't read into that, so I don't know.

Final thought: if by some miracle a second CUSA bid is given, wouldn't the edge be given to UAB?

Why would the edge be given to UAB? We beat them 2 out of 3 times and have a much better NET. I actually don't think the UAB game did anything for or against us because we already beat them twice. Would have been worst to beat UAB a 3rd time and lose to FAU a 3rd time IMO.

Because they just beat us.  If I'm a person looking to see who is playing better ball right now, I would weigh heavily on that.

I get what you're saying though.  NET.  Season results.

I can see it going either way.

Have to then also factor how they beat us. We were the better team clearly, just had a very off game yet still managed to make it competitive until the end.

From what I've read, the committee does not use the eye test so it doesn't matter that Arizona State beat Arizona on a buzzer beater from half-court. All that matters is they beat them. Just strictly wins and losses to who and where.

I would be disappointed.  No amount of metrics, no matter how advanced, should 100% replace human observance.  Should go hand in hand, IMO.
