  2. That is one way to look at it. Another would be that given a full offseason together and the addition of a couple of key pieces, this year’s team could have built the foundation for something better. I wasn’t convinced this team was special or even a top conference team but I have a hard time imagining losing the entire top six on the roster is ever really a positive unless you are just awful. We were not great but far from awful.

  3. No way of knowing until we see who Hodge can get to transfer in.

  4. Something not right with this. I’m thinking this was a mutual parting of ways for some reason.

  6. I'm hearing Caleb Williams is withdrawing from the NFL draft and transferring to UNT after getting a lifetime mani-pedi offer from a local nail salon.

  7. Does not necessarily mean we pulled it, he may have asked. We don't have to release him from his NLI National Letter of Intent, but can choose to do so.

  8. Tough opponent? We should have beat them last year. Personally, I hate posts that are state our opponent is tough. That should be worried about playing us.

  9. Building something special, gotta be talking about the waterpark right??

  10. I guess he wasn't lying when he said he wanted out of his NLI to be somewhere closer to home. Not sure what his home situation is like (maybe he has family that needs help?), but UCA is much closer to it.

  11. Good for him. I'm glad he found somewhere close to home that he can play right away.

  13. Yes. I agree. My point is that it is a very small sample size in less than ideal conditions. If he was good enough to beat out the guy they brought in to be the starter last year, odds are he showed lots of promise. By all accounts they wanted it to be Rodgers last year, but Stone kept outplaying him in summer/fall camp. He also put up 3 touchdowns against Cal in 1 half(1 more than Auburn did in their game the next week) when Rodgers couldn’t do much. Stone now has another year in the system. I just think the fanbase has made up their mind off a small sample size since the coaching staff is always so hush hush on the day to day. I’m sure the new Chandler will get the job, but QB play is the least of my worries whether it’s Stone or Chandler.

  14. You're talking about this game, right? I just want to make sure your explanation of "starters came in and ruined it for Stone Earle" is referring to THIS game...

  15. Huge series that will determine first place in the conference. We swept FAU in Boca last year and now have the homefield advantage. We take outright possession of first place if we sweep the Owls again. FAU just needs one win this weekend to hold their footing over us in the standings. It'd be nice for Tulsa to lose a game or two this weekend at home against ECU to avoid further confusion in the standings. They're 10-5 in conference like us. Come out and support the ladies this weekend! I'm trying to make it to all three... there will be a drone show after tomorrow's game.

  16. I see teams like Memphis and others are already making portal moves, I'd wager we are a week or so away from stuff trickling down to us.

  19. former 4-star Guyer QB. If Morris is retiring I would hope Morris talks to him. Link: https://www.ktsm.com/sports/college-sports/nmsu/new-mexico-state-qb-and-te-eli-stowers-enters-transfer-portal/amp/

  20. 100%. We were a consistent big on the floor - some injuries we took on from being a really, really good basketball team. Now it's all for not.

  21. Honestly, after I read this, I chuckled because... no way. Then I thought about it a little bit, and I chuckled again because I agree. Then I thought about it some more, and I began sobbing.

  22. Ah thanks. I thought it was some old transfer since he weirdly entered the portal since January. Seems like a strange thing to do.

  23. Per 247, the following players from Memphis have entered the portal: Cherenfant Young Pierre Taylor Williams

  24. Do you expect to hear something from Hodge?

  25. Good point. Again, the secrecy of this regime is part of the problem. Morris really limits access and info unlike any other coach I have ever seen. He supposedly got this from Leach but I didn't notice it as much with Littrell.

  26. Not everyone is going to land in the $EC or B1G. Everyone else is fighting for scraps and needs to figure out who they want as business partners in that endeavor. UTPA/UTRGV ever since being nudged out of the Belt has wanted to be in the Southland. Glad to see them find that fit.

  27. Memphis has 4 Pierre Young Cherenfant A. Hardaway 3-4 players seems normal, I don't see a single team up at 7 or more outside of ECU which I mentioned.

  29. Not kidding, you realize that all three programs you mentioned will have new coaches next year? If you did not notice, I qualified my statement by citing without a coaching change. Now start over, and give me examples of teams that have more turnover than NT without a coaching change.

  30. Who knows? lol After seeing Stone last year and not being handle business against FIU, this guy doesn't deserve anything until he has earned it.

  31. Getting to the NCAA tournament is an accomplishment. I think we have momentum and sustainability to lose. For us, that is a tremendous loss. Not to say we can't keep the mojo going, but it's easier when a trusted nucleus is returning.

  32. Next season will be fun. We’re going to learn a lot about Ross’ talent evaluation and what kind of team he wants. I’m excited in that regard.

  33. We can build mirrors in outer space that can point a ray of light at a dime located on the Empire State Building. We can calculate the path of a total solar eclipse, referencing the path of two objects that are 240,000 miles away and 99 million miles away respectively, and pinpoint that exact time in 2044 - 20 years out - to the month and day. But here is someone that questions our ability to accurate count seats in a football stadium.

  34. Pretty sure there is this thing called “a computer” that would allow them to make models to properly calculate the seats per row.
