  3. While what you are saying is completely true, we still have the 2nd highest average composite which is the trajectory we want to be on. Also, a little side note, we played the 2017 season with 14 three stars on the entire roster. Without the incoming class and the current class (2019), we are down to 8 three stars on the roster as it sits. This recruiting class, per ratings, has more talent in it as it currently stands than the entire UNT roster combined as it currently stands. That is staggering in both directions...How poorly Dan McCarney left the roster and how great this 2019 is shaping up to be.

  4. Walk-on? If McCasland can convince a JUCO All-American to walk-on, we’re doing very good!

  9. My wife and I became season ticket holders for the first time last week. I graduated in 2010 and honestly had not been to many games until last year where we made it to half of the football games (and my wife’s first time ever to a college game) but decided to go all in and show our support! Love what is going on with not only athletics but the school as well!

  10. I'm thinking about moving the Collin County UNT Football Watching Parties to Killarney's Live - Irish Pub instead of continuing at Fuzzy's Tacos in Allen. Killarney's is located in Fairview Town Center. This is the former location of Fairview Down Under, where we used to host watching parties several years back. I'd like to get your thoughts on this location change. I spoke with the owner of Kilalrney's and he was very open to the idea. He said when he took over the location, he remembered the North Texas signage (put up by the beer vendors) that had been taken down. One down side is that they currently no longer have a projector, but would still put the game on the large TVs around the bar/restaurant and run the audio throughout. This place is known for its live music, but they said they'd tell the bands that they'd have to wait to start until after the games end. They also said if we had a late bowl game (i.e. 7pm or later), they'd be willing to not have a band play that night. Anyway, let me know your thoughts. https://www.facebook.com/KillarneysLive/

  11. I decided to make a thread of all of the remaining players we have offered that aren't already committed to us or somewhere else. As these recruits commit somewhere I will update their information. If you know of a person we have offered (via twitter or elsewhere) that is missing from the list, feel free to tell me and I will update it. This data is from 247, so if something is missing or incorrect, again feel free to tell me. RBs: Deion Hankins 3* (.8628). 15. Asked coach DL if he was dead set on the flat bill. He said "it's something I have done since (and he gave a year that seemed like a long time ago...2006?)." I said, "Ok, if you started the trend, I can't complain about it." I thought it was a Rickie Fowler thing. We got the guy that started the flat bill. Things are looking up. GMG

  16. http://www.njcaa.org/sports/mbkb/2017-18/div3/players/jjmurray5eds Nice stats.... If that is true...it's amazing that he played 32 games and didn't commit a single foul. Think that could possibly be right??? Edit: Coach Fletcher answered a question on Twitter...JJ did commit some fouls this season. They just were never entered into the Juco stats. He told me that JJ is an awesome young man....both on and off the court.

  17. I am sure these guys are salt of the earth and always a joy to hang with. With that said. I can't say exactly why, but I find them annoying as hell. Each time they celebrate something that took them 100 takes to accomplish I want to punch them in the face. Granted they just have very punch-able looking faces. Then that damn xfinity commercial comes on the TV with their smug looking faces doing crap that is not remotely hard. Does that make me a bad guy? Psycho? Probably so but I did donate to the Mean Green Club today.

  19. I know a lot of folks that have been excited about the Littrell era from Day 1. Others have had a wait and see approach before contributing their hard-earned money. (Division winner, CUSA championship appearance, 2 for 2 bowl appearances, recruiting momentum) Other folks were excited about the Baker era. Others had a wait and see approach before contributing their hard-earned money. (motherlovin CBI winners, successes through olympic sports, indoor facility, etc) Have you waited and seent enough? Together we can whoop up. Let's do this thang so we can stop being one of the crappiest in terms of season tix and middling contributions. Culture change starts with us.

  21. I hope he is a walk on. I'm not seeing the athleticism needed to compete at our level... and his shooting percentages don't make up for that like Draper. We really need another flex big like Simmons who can hold down the fort with 4 guards around him and still contribute offensively.

  22. Wasn’t it Greer that took a knee on a play in Austin when one of the UT defense was coming at him? No attempt to allude him. It was embarrassing. Reminded me of the “Blow the whistle!” scene in Necessary Roughness.

  35. Also very true. These are 2 legit ball players. If a team has the need for two and they arent filled by the time the first signing period comes around, you'll see some p5s offer both. It's up to UNT to keep dating them throughout what needs to be a strong season.
    1 point
  36. Good point. As we get closer to signing periods, schools get more desperate and there might be one or two out there to offer both. Question is will they be big enough to sway two players. Nothing kept Ed Oliver, a 5 star DT, from playing with his brother at UH. Hopefully the same happens with these guys.

  37. No. SL is about $500k more than LK this year, increasing that difference annually.

  38. As a reminder, here is the stat line for Greer and McNulty combined for that first game in 2014 when we were coming off a bowl championship season with Thompson. 3 of 17 for 15 yards and 4 interceptions. One interception was a 28 yard pick 6. There was also a fumble lost by one of them. Greer’s QBR was -11.1 while McNulty’s was -40.2. Worst quarterbacking performance I’ve seen at any level. Just to recap, we completed more passes for more yards and more points to the opponent than we did to our own team. Almost impossibly bad but we found a way to do it coming off a 9 win season.
