Dear North Texas Students, Faculty and Staff,

On behalf of the North Texas Basketball Team, we would like to extend our appreciation

to all the members of the Mean Green Nation who have supported us throughout this

tremendous 2007-08 Basketball Season.

We would like to thank the student body for its support. The Pit Crew has provided a

huge home court advantage for us and has made the Super Pit one of the most

intimidating places to play in the Sun Belt Conference. The tremendous student

attendance, the painted faces, the signs of encouragement, and the incredible displays of

school spirit have helped in making this season one to remember.

This support cannot stop now. We need to see you at the Super Pit Wednesday, March

5th at 7 pm as we play Arkansas State in the 1st round of the Sun Belt Conference

Tournament. This game is the first step in our journey to repeat as Sun Belt Conference

Champions. With a victory tonight, the North Texas Basketball team is looking to reach

many different milestones:

1. Back to Back 20 win seasons.

2. We will have won 15 home games at the Super Pit this season. This will be

the most home wins in the history of North Texas Basketball in a single

season.

Students, we need your support. We need you with the Pit Crew on Wednesday, March

5th at 7 pm when we play Arkansas State in the 1st Round of the Sun Belt

Conference Tournament. Be loud, Be proud, wear green, demonstrate good

sportsmanship, and help us continue on our path to the 2008 Sun Belt Conference

Championship.

Go Mean Green!

Sincerely,

Johnny Jones

Head Basketball Coach

I asked this in the other thread, but received no answer. Is there any promotion happening on campus? Wednesday should be an easy night to bring a lot of students in.

That would take some planning by our Athletic Director and we know he's busy raising money for the stadium that needs to break ground within the next two months if it is to be ready for the 2009 season, which is what he promissed to the football coach when he was hired.

Do we know this for sure? If so, he's really stuck his neck out there.

Maybe it was a two-way understanding, and a 2-10 season including a 4502-1 loss in Norman gave RV an extra year.
