Forget Too Small, Can't Wait To Watch Jp!

This kid is good. He bounces off blocks and seeks out the ball. Check out the video. This size stuff is nonsense!

Looks good, BOOGERISH. I know what we're seeing are highlights, but he doesn't let people get away. No one runs through him, jukes him or slips away. Several of those clips were in playoff settings so he's not just dominating a weak squad. He's a playmaker and was obviously an important part of SLC's success.

What impresses me most is how smart he plays. He doesn't make a bee-line for where the ball carrier is; he tries to make a good guess of where they're gonna be in the next few seconds and then finds a good angle of attack. Whether or not this means a full-sprint, a jog, or just waiting for the ball-carrier, he's right there at the right moment to make the hit. I'm very impressed because all the speed in the world doesn't mean squat if you're not smart enough to use it properly, and this kid is fast.

Great points. What concerns me a little bit is that, at least in this footage, he makes a lot of "hands" tackles. He's obviously got strong hands; but when he moves up to Div 1-A ball, he's going to need to wrap up and get leverage to bring the bigger, faster ballcarriers down consistently.

agree 100%. He is a smart (not big or fast, Mr. Kiper) FOOTBALL PLAYMAKER!
