The First 3 seem to be –

Texas – Ouch, they might even be better next year than they are this year.

Tulsa – CUSA-West champs. A team that seems to be improving and getting better

SMU – Has Bennet turned the corner?

There is a very good chance we will be 0-3 to start the year. Can this program survive if this happens? If we are not at least competitive with Tulsa (under 10) and SMU comes to Denton and leaves with a “W”, is NT going to be able to recover?

I agree with the first part. I think a bad loss to SMU will really demoralize the core supporters of the program, i.e. the people on this board. That game is as dangerous a game for the program as we'll ever play in, IMO.

SMU is really critical...

I would love to see someone pin a "BEAT SMU" thread at the top of the board. Lock the thread and have it contain a big SMU logo. Have it on the board untill the day of the SMU game.

I know many coaches and players visit this site. Give them something to work for.

I'm sure the program will survive, I'm not sure the coaching staff would.

That will put us on a 9 game losing streak and 12 out of the last 13. Double ouch.
