I appreciate Skip's efforts to defend UNT. A very honorable statement on his part.

Chip Kelly's just a jerk and trying to deflect from the questions being asked by the reporter.

M. Smith is crude, but he is right. His comments about most people not having a clue who we are is accurate. We as an athletic department have not done enough to register on the national stage. Every one of our big three sports have been under performing for years. That is exactly why we need a new AD after 15 years. I hope president Smatresk has seen this clip.

Nice to get a little love from a national sports figure, even if it is Skip Bayless.

It's funny how people say they don't know about North Texas but still manage to get in the "North Texas State" dig. Evidently they knew who we were at some point prior to 1989.

People know who we are just like people know who the UMASS Minutemen are, Akron Zips, NIU Huskies, FAU Owls and even the SIU Salukis. Stephen "A" Smith is a pompous, racist douche bag and how he is still employed by a television network is beyond unbelievable. Skip has some ties to the state of Texas somehow. I know he's a big Spurs guy. Every time UNT ever get's air time it's critical in nature. Even Skip's comments were critical in nature if you look deeper into his facial expressions and his wording. Skip has some ties to the state of Texas somehow.

He's from Oklahoma City and was a columnist at the Dallas Times-Herald from age 26 until the paper folded. He also was a morning drive time host on The Ticket when it launched in the 1990s.

I'll reiterate the general consensus: I really haven't been a fan of anything Skip Bayless has ever said, and although I'm also not a big fan of Stephen A. Smith, Bayless just leapfrogged over Smith in my opinion. Never thought I'd see the day.

I travel a lot, and almost everyone I have met is familiar with UNT. It is far from a no name school. Skip just went up a notch in my book though. I would also bet more people are familiar with UNT than with Mr. Smith.
