My whole rant is not totally towards Perry. I’m just saddened at what collegiate sports has become.5 points

I'm not mad at them for this L. When Seton Hall plays well they're a top 16 seed in the tournament. We experienced Seton Hall playing well. Good year riddled with injuries. Onto year 2. GMG5 points

The least he could have done was to leave the AAC a few more NCAA units before he left.4 points

I finally bought season tickets this year after a few years of continuing to stand in the student section. Now that the Maniacs have established themselves, we tried to bring noise on the other end. But we need some of the old farts to stop telling the energetic fans to sit down/be quiet. Those people should go sit up in the higher rows!4 points

Me coming to grips with the end of basketball season and seeing the football forum... https://youtu.be/DnuQXCDBZ3E?si=Ipr6DDbYjV2EI42E3 points

So, you're saying that if somebody offered you a quarter million dollars to cheer for Oklahoma this year instead of North Texas that you would turn it down? If you, a dedicated supporter can be bought, then how can you expect a player to not take advantage of that offer.3 points

Hence the desperate need to vacate the hollow chambers of our current facility.3 points

Are updates from scrimmage today? Heard some RB’s are out and some transfers are stepping up3 points

Me too. I infuse my level of enjoyment into the equation. And I would say really look forward to heading to Denton, and watching them on tv and in Fort Worth. Didn’t make an away game this year but I like the style of play. They played hard and to the end. It was a bunch of new guys and a learning coach. Proud of this team. Thank you Mean Green! This doesn’t really change anything for me. We went on the road and beat a team that beat us earlier in the season. That always feels good.3 points

The school administration has to change the profile of the type student they market to. Period. Until then, the "Director of Marketing and Fan Engagement" is going to have an uphill climb.3 points

More sad days for Our Little Ponies as they terminated the coach who guided them to one of their most successful seasons they've experienced in three decades without subsequently getting slammed with probation. Stay Prissy Little Sissy!2 points

Anyone have any news about the spring practices? Anyone looking good/not so good? Been thirsting for some UNT football news of late.2 points
-
I can. We would have lost our coach to Michigan and feared for our future. FAU is still playing in a practice barn and might disappear into irrelevancy for a while...again. (And it'd be totally worth it!)2 points

Don't care where they come from. NT should just recruit the best players they can get that play NT style basketball; defense is priority, functions well in team environment, excellent character, I would prefer a mix of transfers, with a limited number of one year eligibility players, priority on getting players that once signed cannot leave without losing a year of eligibility Biggest need a defensive oriented big man and returning Edwards, Scott and Jones if he has another year2 points

What a horrible interference call overturning a force out at third and resulting in a run for Tulsa. The runs in the fourth inning by Tulsa are on the umpires. As a former third baseman and umpire, complete B.S.2 points

The program does very little to drive excitement during the spring. Missed opportunity. Of course there was a bring your Corgi to DATCU yesterday. 🤷2 points

I think we’ve developed a nice pipeline from the juco ranks. But, with our recent success the past few years, I’m hoping for guys from major conferences to realize what UNT has going for them right now. You still have to recruit the major juco players, tho. You also have to look at P5 kids who are part of a rotation that may want more burn. We have to build up from here on out2 points

They should have lost to Samford. That athletic all ball block that was called a foul was an outcome changer in that game. If Kansas made that block I don't think that would have been called.2 points

Please create a standing cheering section for crazy fans of all ages opposite of the Maniacs section. Watch season tickets increase. GMG2 points

For all you youngsters out there, the environment that we faced today was very similar to our old days at the original pit...very small facility with people packed into it and REALLY REALLY LOUD. In fact, that was the reason that Maury Johns of Drake dubbed to snake pit back in the 60's. It was nightmare for visitors and it won a lot of games for us, due to the intimidation we created.2 points

I'd love for every star player to stay at North Texas for the remainder of their college eligibility, but... I also want what's best for our players. If a player receives an extremely lucrative offer to play elsewhere I fully encourage him/her to transfer and accept it. Perry did EVERYTHING he could do for this program while he was here and only left when KSU reportedly offered him a quarter million dollars. That's pretty serious money for most college students. We just need to build our fan base to the point where we can afford to retain that type of player.2 points

Another walk off homer.....wins the game! 1-0 win. Great pitching by Skylar. The homer was by Mikayla.....and it broke up a no hitter (thru 6 2/3). Team is now 7-1 in league play. Our gals go for the sweep tomorrow at noon....at The Lace.2 points

Some days you eat the bear, and some days the bear eats you. All our guys can hit layups and free throws. Today they just didn't fall while we were playing against a very good team in a loud hostile environment. Basketball Gods, please grant us the serenity to accept the things we cannot change, the courage to change the things we can, and the wisdom to know the difference.2 points

Maybe you want to compare resources and budgets between NT and LSU Also the game was in Baton Rouge, a hell of an advantage2 points

I think it’s pretty obvious with all the secrecy surrounding Spring Practice that Morris is eyeing the playoffs and winning a National Title. That’s ok with me. Go Mean Green.2 points

Then why didn't they do this two years ago when they knew they weren't staying in the AAC? They would have two years in that system as they entered the ACC, now they are starting over. You can't spell CEsLmLuAR without SMU.2 points

What is your opinion on where to focus recruitment and the right mix? ex. Power 5 bench players Smaller Conference starters but realistically not stars High School Stars Division I Stars JUCO1 point

I think it is one of those where there are thousands upon thousands of 6-18 year old teams competing all day everyday and need the size of the Pit to host it. I could be wrong but I believe that is what was going on to prevent the possibility.1 point

What a great win.........3-2.....winning run driven in by Saleen. Great pitching from MackWags and Skylar. Some more great defense. Team now 8-1 in league play.1 point

Pure and simple, Sanford deserved to win. That's fact. Another fact is that both of my nieces graduated from Samford.1 point

OL quality as a squad is more about the weakest link rather than the best individual lineman. I don't agree with @3_n_out but it certainly possible if all the individual lineman are best than the worst lineman in the squad last year. And if the offense is 60% pass vs 40% run or if is closer to 50/50 with a zone blocking run scheme that makes the weakest link more important vs strongest link. It is great to have a monster like Larry Allen, Eric Williams, or Travis Fredick. But it you aren't scheming to run behind him their impact can be limited when the best pass rusher on the opposition just moves to go at weaker offensive lineman. So many unknowns about this coming season it hard to be excited or pessimistic about it. I just wish this was year 3 of our new coach instead of year 2.1 point

i am always disappointed in the North Texas commercials. they always look cheap, thrown together, and not focusing of the best parts of the school. during conference tournament times, it's cool seeing the other schools videos....those campuses look nice.1 point
