  1. As a Latino human, I can confirm I am not a taco which is good news considering it's one of my favorite food items. Incredibly versatile. I believe tacos are the greatest pathway to peace in our country. That said, breakfast tacos have no boundaries. Little place in west Dallas off singleton that makes some mean carnitas on the weekends. Get there after 8 am and they've been known to already be sold out. Carnitas for breakfast it is.

  4. Despite earning a bowl in 2021, UNT had an average attendance of 16,689, down from pre-COVID years like 2019 when the Mean Green had average crowds of 21,358 with a 4-8 record. With Apogee back open at full capacity, what does Wren feel is keeping some of our fans away, and how are season ticket sales looking for this season? Up or down from last year?

  5. Just a somber note today... Richard Farris, NT Football '59-60 passed away yesterday. He was from Palestine, played 2 years at NT and on to play for the Rams... I knew him well... GMG

  7. Was Wren proud of being able to keep Grant away from Smut? -As mentioned, more use of Mean Green name. -Return "Mean Green Club" name to use. - Baseball? -Partnership between MWC/AAC for OOC scheduling in all sports, fewer FCS and Dll? -can we re-focus on DFW region and not just Denton county? -does he have a short list to replace Seth? lol

  9. It could be running back by committee. There doesn't seem to be a lot of difference between Adaway, Ragsdale, Adeyi and Johnson. In addition, there are two more very talented RBs in BK Jackson and Preston Landis. Coach Cobbs just keeps them coming.

  10. UNT's recruiting is lagging far behind SMU, and now also UTSA. SMU has 15 recruits and enjoys a current ranking of #44 on 247Sports. UNT has 4 recruits and no ranking by the site. 10 of the commits held offer from both programs, but only 1 of those 10 recruits chose UNT. UTSA also enjoys a similar recruiting advantage against UNT. Why are we failing to recruit these high caliber players? Is this a result of the recent NIL changes in college football or is it a different problem? What is your plan to improve our recruiting as UNT prepares to join the AAC in 2023?

  11. When I was in middle school, corporal punishment was allowed (70's). We had 4 or 5 guys who would compete to see who could get the most "licks" in the school year. Don't really remember if there was a trophy or anything. Anyway, are you folks having a competition to see who can get the most threads locked down? Is a prize awarded? Will there be a fantasy draft for those not competing to choose their favorite?

  13. Lamar University’s tenure in the Western Athletic Conference started with bold moves and big promises. A year and six months later, Lamar is finally on its way to cleaning up what turned into one big mess. In January of 2021, four Texas schools announced they would be leaving the Southland Conference. One of them was Lamar, which entered the new-look WAC alongside Sam Houston, Stephen F. Austin and Abilene Christian. During a press conference inside NRG Park in Houston, WAC leaders gloated about the lofty goals of their league. They praised the potential of WAC basketball, citing the possibility of putting two WAC teams into the NCAA tournament on an annual basis. There was even talk of WAC football one day soon stepping up to the FBS level as a league. read more: https://www.beaumontenterprise.com/sports/lamar/article/FAYE-How-Lamar-s-WAC-tenure-turned-into-one-big-17300678.php

  15. With all the changes in re-alignment where is the top he sees for north Texas. What are we doing to make our self stand out over others. Especially UTSA and SMU. Would you consider a PAC12 invite if they wanted into Texas with the uncertainty around the others in the conference. In your conversations with other conferences in the past or present is there things they would like to see from North Texas.

  16. The criminal justice system will never change as long as liberals keep lying about statistics. You can't make change when your basis for it is a lie. About 10.5 million people are arrested in the US each year, but yes, coin flip she'd be shot. US law enforcement kill 5 million per year. Hug your family members tonight, everybody. 🙄

  17. yep. RB, to me, is the position of least concern. EDIT: I just wish Oscar the best of health so we can finally watch his talent unfold across an entire season.

  18. Is there a way for fans to come and see our historical trophies/awards that are not digital? For instance, the Sun Belt or New Orleans Bowl trophies, and other memorabilia from more than 10 years ago, across all sports? There was an actual display in the AC years ago with real footballs, trophies, nets, etc but I’ve heard it is all digital now.

  21. IF SMU got into the PAC12 or ACC hard to imagine how they would spin a school the Big12 passed over repeatedly was good enough for their conference?

  23. Since this seems to be a comment about coaching rather than the player, after, what, 2-3 years at UNC, I wouldn't think it would be necessary to spend a lot of time developing a QB. What does this say about the ability or inability of P5 UNC to develop QBs (if that's the issue)? Some QBs don't need a lot of development - they have "it" and are ready. I can see coaching development necessary when bringing in a high school player with some raw talent, but if you have someone that's been in a high-level college program for multiple years, a lot of that development should have already been accomplished, no? Maybe the development is more about experience playing in a live game setting than pure coaching "development."

  24. What’s been the most surprising challenge you’ve faced while at North Texas? How has the job changed since you first arrived here? How do you anticipate it further changing? How are you preparing for the inevitable future changes? Side note: It’s been an absolute pleasure watching you help grow the UNT brand. I’m glad you decided the good guys in Green and I look forward to a bright Mean Green future with you as AD. GMG!

  29. All good questions. I might add that the NIL is not coming from the athletic department and they are really supposed to be steering clear of it. In some ways it’s like NIL is taking away from the athletic departments fund raising it seems.

  32. As most of you will recall, Torrey wasn’t even supposed to be a running back last season. The running back job was firmly Oscar’s until he got hurt. Torrey was slated to play a slot receiver/hybrid role.

  35. I don’t watch enough Fox News I guess. I thought this was a legitimate question until @Cr1028 chimed in… Then I had to change my answer from “chorizo, egg, & cheese w/salsa”… To…. “Poor lady said something unfortunate. How many of us have said something stupid, not meaning it the way it came out? If you’ve never done this, consider yourself lucky, or you’re a damn liar.” She’s already apologized. Should be water under the bridge.
