So people couldn’t come out to support McCasland because it could be interpreted as supporting Seth? Got it.7 points

AAC scheduling is like the power conferences. The vast majority of games are scheduled on a 6 or 12 day pick. Meaning that unlike CUSA, we will not know what the kickoff time or network will be until a week or 2 before. The networks are going to pick the most appealing matchups for that week and give them better kickoff times and networks. Win and get games on an ESPN linear network, lose and get used to ESPN+ school produced games. We're going to get 11am or 2:30pm kickoffs in September and Thursday and Friday night games, so get ready.3 points

Prices go any lower and we'll be calling him Dana Dime(l) You're welcome for that one3 points

My boy will finish the season higher than 4th team C-USA. Huge kudos to KD on a well-deserved honor--looking forward to a great season from him!3 points

Well, you can’t get much closer to being right dead in between the seasons of the two sports, but whatever makes you feel better. Very difficult to justify this event having “nothing to do with basketball”.2 points

Why was this moved from the Basketball Forum? Well done and basketball related and needs more visibility, IMO2 points

I literally live in Denton. It's nice to stay plugged into the local team up here. Top rivals for SMU in new CUSAAC: actual hate: 1. Memphis 2. Tulsa, casual: 3. Navy 4. Tulane UNT could supplant #3 or #4 pretty easy if it starts being a competitive game2 points

It would be nice to win our SIXTH game in a row over UTEP in front of a sell out crowd.2 points

In reality your talking about less than 10 people. Then again, that might be all of them2 points

If it's a rivalry that both teams acknowledge it will be UTSA. If it's one that we have that is actually more of a grudge game than a rivalry it would be SMU2 points

Wins @UTEP. TX Southern, @UNLV, FAU, La Tech, FIU, and Rice. Losses--SMU, @Memphis, @UTSA, @WKU, and @UAB We beat 7 complete spares, lose to anyone with a pulse, mostly in blowout fashion. SL gets his extension for making it to 7 wins for 3 years beyond his last season on his current contract. The very best thing that could happen here is to get to 6 losses in the regular season--otherwise, SL will come back...and the best thing that can happen here is to have him leave to go be an OC at some P5 for the rest of his career.2 points

Sebastian Munoz was -1 today to finish his first two rounds at +3. He is a 74.4% probability of making the cut that is currently +4 with just a few golfers left on the course. Colin Morakawa leads at -4. Ortiz is not in the field. Morikawa and Joel Dahmen lead at -51 point

Ok so I stumbled upon the 2022 American Conference TV schedule and for the most part, outside of a handful of games most of them are still on ESPN+ and CBS Sports Network. I'm just not sure what the difference will be compared to what we have now outside of Conference name when we land in 2023. Are we banking on landing ONE of the ESPN/ESPN2/ESPNU slots a year? I'm not talking revenue, I know that will be more, just from a pure viewership perspective. https://theamerican.org/news/2022/5/26/football-american-announces-numerous-television-designations-kickoff-times-for-2022.aspx1 point

As far as I'm concerned all are rivals. The only ones that we've never been in a conference with are SMU, South Florida, East Carolina, Navy and Temple. I believe that we have played all of them except Temple (not positive about ECU). We've also been in the same conference with Wichita State. So this is where we belong. I consider all of the Texas universities as our strongest rivals...the two strongest are SMU and UTSA and Rice could be if they ever decide to put some of their plenteous money supply into their football team. In order that we enter the AAC with respect, I believe that we need to win 8 games, and that includes a bowl win. If Seth is able to accomplish that then I would give him a one-year extension. If he can do it again in the AAC then I say give him a new contract.1 point

If he lose to UTEP a search for a new coach should start when the team arrives back in Denton. 24-20 UTEP. Loss SMUT-they mop the floor with us as usual. 41-17 (Loss). I will do my best SMUT fan impersonation and not buy a ticket to the game. Texas Southern- win as we should 35-10 UNLV- loss 24-21 They win on a last second fg Memphis-28-10. Loss- FAU 29-20 Loss LA TECH-win 30-20. they are in disarray UTSA-31-24 loss they win at home WKU-27-20 loss they are still ahead of us FIU 31-10 we win the pillow fight UAB 38-10 beat down loss Rice-we win 28-21 4-8 and no bowl for you!1 point

It appears I like Coach Littrell more than the majority of posters here. Like someone said earlier in the thread, he’s good enough that the season won’t be a disaster, but unfortunately there’s not much reason for excitement either. I’d say we’re looking at 5 or 6 wins.1 point

Meanwhile in C-USA, 4 of our games will be on Stadium, 4 on “ESPN Networks”, 2 not picked up yet, 1 on ESPN3, and 1 on CBS Sports Network. We have more games on Stadium than any other C-USA team. Is Stadium based in Dallas? It’s available OTA in Dallas and on Dallas local cable.1 point

That would be my guess. The article stated that it hadn’t been decided who he would portray, but from a size standpoint, Kevin makes sense. Plus he is the only remaining brother.1 point

I guess on your logic announcers don't have to be neutral. Not a fan of Texas but these announcers are definitely pulling for Notre Dame and seem to know everything there is about Notre Dame and what happens at their practices and their previous coaches1 point

Without knowing what we’re getting from the QB position, game by game predictions are tough but I’d agree with this except WKU. Rice may depend on what’s on the line that game. Here’s my over the top prediction- everything depends on the UTEP game. We show we can go on the road and beat a decent team I think it sets a tone. Lose and we’re staring down five wins max.1 point

Me too, because if he doesn’t it means the secondary is making the tackles!1 point

Win - TSU, UNLV, FAU, FIU, Rice, and either LATech or WKU. Loss - UTEP, SMU, Memphis, UTSA, UAB, and either LATech or WKU. 6-6 my friends! Then we'll get to a bowl game against another 6-or-7-win team, and get waxed again. #Hit61 point

Stayed at the new Resorts World Las Vegas last week and it was really nice. Allegiant is really nice as well...very reminiscent of AT&T. They're just going to have a ton of empty seats. Their old place was a dump, but it's usually sad to see teams play in these massive stadiums with small crowds.1 point

It's easy. Step 1: Acknowledge rivalry with SMU Step 2: oops, no more room for another rival. Step 3: UTSA games are still fun, though!1 point

The season will rely on QB play and health. If one of our QB’s can separate themselves, this team can win 6-7 games. The receivers would need to stay healthy, though. Despite the DL losses, overall I believe a 2nd year with PB will see improvement. The RB room looks to be stacked! Aside from the one transferring OL loss, the OL should see growth under Clements. I don’t think I have the green glasses on….🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️1 point

I booked Fri-Sun through our MGM account at Bellagio. There were already some decent comps available. If the market goes 101% to hell long term after a 75bp or 100bp rate hike at Wednesday's Fed meeting they may be giving away hotel rooms by Sept on the Strip. At minimum make sure you can cancel your hotel reservation so you can rebook for a cheaper rate.1 point

So what'd everyone think? It's obvious Grant is a great speaker and motivator. Seth almost has me believing (don't know why I keep letting that happen). And I feel bad that I don't support Women's BB better. Saw the same 25-40 people that are at every similar Dallas or Collin County event. Not sure how many people that didn't work for the University that were there and under 40 years old. We can't just have a bunch of guys who are at or beyond retirement supporting the program. I know even the great SMU struggles with this, but it's as evident as ever.1 point

Call it tinted sunglasses, or whatever, but I really think this team could be special. The D-Line and defensive backfield are our two question marks, in my mind, and I like the additions to the D-Line and Bennett's leadership.1 point

Nailed it. Seeing Tennessee on that list helped me to realize this guy was living in the NCAAF multiverse where Saban instead became a ballet dancer and Smart took up the mantle of the Bulldog(tm) to avenge the untimely death of his parents in a theaters back alley during a 1990 showing of Ninja Turtles.1 point
