Thoughts from a basketball loving GMG fan......... ANY AND ALL CONFERENCE ROAD WINS ARE HUGE! Vegas had a 3.5 pt line for a reason. I don't care if you're in the Big East, B12, or the freaking MAAC, every coach will sign up for road W's. Thought JJ was tremendous, what a boost getting a double digit scoring night from him. Abou was spectacular and I can't help get excited about his future in Green. As for T Bell, the back to the basket is by design. other teams are switching live ball screens and Mac uses TB to space, draw doubles and distribute. He's very capable in that roll, just can't have the ball stick as much. Rebounding was a plus all night, just a Grant team being the toughest team on the floor. Didn't like the 16 TOs, that's a recipe for disaster with this team and absolutely can't do that Saturday. Also, better start hitting FTs at a higher clip..... All and all, big win to set the table for Saturday, going to need all the shot making come tomorrow.6 points

Not saying this game will be easy by any stretch, but beating the Hillfloppers won’t be some miracle. We have a common opponent in Buffalo. They lost to them by ten, 77-67 We lost to them by three, 69-66 (and I already regret bringing this game up, because I know I just triggered several of you)6 points

Also remiss if I didn’t shout out Perry for the cold blooded Hamletesque runner in the lane down the stretch. Amazing shot.6 points

That was my fear too, when they allowed the one year transfer and all the out right buying of players through NIL it favors the stronger programs. Woolridge and Gibson both bolted for the bigger lights and probably more moolah. My approach now is just concentrate on the season and not worry about next year's free agency. As long as NT can hold on to McCasland, I think NT will be at the top of CUSA or the AAC.5 points

A change.org petition isn't the same thing as a school planning to restart football. When someone from their administration says they are going to investigate restarting then I'll believe they are actually interested. The last I saw in any news article, UTA administrators were says they were NOT even looking into football, although that was pre-pandemic.5 points

That was a great job down the stretch. Murray with his best shooting game of the year, Abou with the best game of his career, Perry with the big shot making, and Bell with the huge defensive play at the end.5 points

Way to gut it out. Props to Bell for a game changing block there. Never apologize for any conference road wins!5 points

Is he that good or was that just a matchup that favored? Didn't get to watch the game but his box was impressive.4 points

Probably a little of both. Watching the replay now and finally seeing this exchange he had with Early that earned technicals for both. Not gonna lie: I will be watching how these two handle each other in future matchups. Early walked away last night with 5 points, 1 board, and the loss. Not a good look on him. Does he continue to just run his mouth and not contribute?4 points

Our lack of a bench could be the difference on a short turn around. With Western's height, maybe we will see Wright get a chance to earn his way back into the rotation. I think we have learned by now that Grant will play with 5 before he gives in and plays someone who won't play the way he demands. It can be really frustrating for fans but I think Grant knows what is best for his program. He's earned that! We'd all love to win the conference regular season title but it's how you play in the tournament that really counts. Go Mean Green.4 points

It was ugly at times but a win is a win on the road in conference play! Gutsy win4 points

I think the Hillbillies in Bowling Green can handle snow better than all the California transplants in Nashville.3 points

I'm not sure how they feel about us, but there is a fair amount of history in this matchup and I consider them maybe out biggest basketball rival.3 points

Being the husband of an elementary teacher, I think I can help offer a different point of view here (because I hear about it all the time): Any good teacher who cares for their kids does not want to go virtual... at all. Administration also does not want to do this. I'm willing to bet most parents also don't want to go virtual again either. However, hospitals are starting to fill up again with Covid patients. So, desperate times call for desperate measures. There are some wacky options out there that School districts are trying to utilize (like this weird one in Boston) to keep in-person education happening. I assure you a lot of thought goes into it, and every teacher worth a damn in Boston would rather open their windows ALL THE WAY UP than go back home & try to teach virtually. Granted, Omicron seems to be much less deadly than it's predecessors (normal for viruses to mutate in this way: increase communicability, decrease fatality, to provide itself the best chances of spreading & staying alive), it's still this new virus that we're unsure of. And, the original (much more deadly) SARS-CoV-2 is still out there as well. So we're not yet to the point of going back to normal. Hopefully we can soon. I'm hoping this latest surge of Omicron might be the last one, and we can start getting back to normal after this.3 points

Marshall is a one man team. You remove Kinsey and they are not very good. He was either scoring, making some unbelievable shots, or creating opportunities for teammates.3 points

Team Statistics Team Statistics Game Stats UNT Marsh FG% .481 .453 3FG% .389 .235 FT% .571 .722 RB 41 26 TO 16 7 STL 5 9 A few stats clearly show where we were clearly dominant and also areas where there may be room for improvement. Overall it's a good victory over a very scrappy team desperately fighting for it's relevance in league play.3 points

Both college football and college basketball have been ruined, for different reasons, but they both can still be enjoyed, just not like they ever were before. College football has been ruined as we know it because of the NIL, transferring immediately now, Power Conferences creating a monopoly with no Cinderella possibility, and accepting 6-6 as bowl worthy by creating way too many bowl games, of which many nfl-to-be players skip out on. Watered down the entire meaning of a championship or strong season. College hoops got ruined by the NBA accepting players out of high school, but then changing to allow one-and-dones. We hardly know anyone on teams from year-to-year, now the mid-majors lose their talent to power teams, and the best kids leave ASAP. And now, the G league and international leagues are getting kids directly out of high school. Money rules the day. It just happened to ruin my two favorite sports.3 points

I hope Jeff runs for 100+ yards and three touchdowns scoring all of the 49ers' points. I hope Dallas scores 28 points.3 points

Just shows how our season went and the continued improvement through the year. Early we lost to a La Tech team that we would have beaten later in the year. Late in the year we beat two teams that ended up ranked ahead of us. I'm looking forward to next year.3 points

Just came across this link to a petition for UTA to bring back football. I guess since UTSA did now they are wanting to as well. I wish them well. Link: https://www.change.org/p/bring-back-uta-football-add-women-s-sports?redirect=false2 points

Thanks. I found it and just finished watching. It didn't appear Stone was on the side line. Is he hurt? Also, surprised Wright isn't getting any minutes. We are going to need that depth on Saturday. Good road win.2 points

He was making some tough shots! Switched to JJ guarding him those final possessions and it made it much more difficult for him to score. Great move by Coach Mac. Good to get the win on the road. GMG!2 points

great defense at the end by the team, tough to win on the road, especially when travelling to the furthest you can for a conference game. good job by the guys and now it's time for another tough test in bowling green.2 points
