  1. I agree, but the best chance for success would be to follow Coach Mac. Grant knows what his strengths and weaknesses are and how best to use him. He will also be able to get the NIL money he wants/needs at Tech. I'm afraid he will go somewhere else and not find the right fit for his game. McBride and Reese found out the grass isn't always greener somewhere else. I wish him nothing but success. Great young man.
  2. The athletic department has remained pretty quiet about this due to privacy issues. It is considered a "family" situation and he isn't quitting or skipping out on the team. He will most likely not be able to play and when the season is over they will be able to explain the situation. Grant and his staff have things covered and know if he will be able to play or not so I trust we will be prepared. Probably better to have a quicker big man like Martinez or Sissoko guarding their 7 footer that likes to shoot 3's. Without Abou we will need to stay out of foul trouble!
  3. When I was in school back in the Stone Age, the football players attended most of the home basketball games. They didn't always sit together but were present. I always see Grant and most of the current basketball guys and girls at every home football game. Anyone know why they don't support the basketball teams? Maybe they have night classes but that doesn't keep them from attending Saturday games. Maybe Coach Morris will see this and address it with his players once he gets settled in and can catch his breath. I know it is a little thing but since we have over 85 football players, that would make a difference in the student section. Not sure how many softball, track, golf, volleyball, ect players attend the games but it would sure be nice for them to support each other. Great win last night vs. UAB. Go Mean Green!
  4. Heard it was a back issue but he should be back for UAB.
  5. Hope Martinez will be playing?
  6. Any update on Martinez status for Thursday?
  7. With one of the world's best music programs, maybe someone in the department could write something original for us like Pantera did for the Stars.
  8. The Time Out Sports Bar and Grill and Captain Nemo's before it. Texas Pickup
  9. Lack of defensive intensity was shocking last night but I think we look tired right now. My bigger concern is how we can stop having these 4-5 minute spans in every game where we can't score. Even when we drive to the basket and get fouled, we miss the FT's. We need to get something figured out before March. I still believe in Grant and this team. I think the schedule has really worn us down the last two weeks. Things slow down a little after Saturday. We need time to have 3-4 days of practice without a game. Go Mean Green!
  10. League did us no favors with these one day travel turnarounds. No excuse for our play last night but sure will be a tough turnaround to travel today and play tomorrow afternoon.
  11. Anyone have the time or ability to find out how many AAC officials also work Conference USA games? I know some officials call games for more than one conference. Hoping that the move up to the AAC will not only mean better opponents but better officials.
  12. I didn't think the students were back till next Monday? They have made a difference when at the games in force.
  13. Maybe he should have just stayed where is was in the first place.
  14. Are there any bars close by the stadium that fans will be pregaming at Saturday night? I assumed the UNT tailgate would be free like last year and don't really want to drop the extra bucks for it. Bring a group of 12 so a free tailgate or bar would be better for us. Thanks and Go Mean Green!
  15. Agreed. Winning the conference tournament in Frisco is the only way we get an NCAA bid. We are in a one bid league, until next year so don't sweat about KenPom and NET. Just secure a first round bye, get stay healthy and be playing well in March.
