It looks like Sydrick (Syd) Moore will sign with UNT

It appears as if Van defensive tackle Sydrick (Syd) Moore is headed to UNT.

Van head coach Jared Moffatt said that UNT’s coaches told Moore after
his visit last week that he would receive at least a grayshirt offer.
Whether or not he would receive an offer to be a part of UNT’s 2013
recruiting class would depend on the decisions a couple of prospects
made after they visited Big 12 schools.

Moffatt did not know which prospects UNT’s coaches were referring to,
but the safe bet is that they were talking about Louisiana WR/DB
Jermaine Antoine and Sherman LB Kahlee Woods.

Antoine backed out of his commitment to UNT and said he will sign with TCU. Woods committed to Texas Tech.

Moffatt had not heard from UNT when I talked to him yet this morning, but he expects to receive a call later today.

Maybe a move to DE, especially if he does in fact have an explosive first step. Undersized for a DT.

Nope. Maybe not a nose tackle, but he ought to be fine at three tech. And it's difficult to know, but considering those weights are given prior to senior year of high school, he ought to be good to put on another 15 or so pounds, if necessary.

Good spot . . . anyone remember him?

Well, I see that in another thread someone already had this one nailed . . .

I wonder if he's related to Sid Moore, a running back that we had here in the early-mid 80s? Sid was also from Van, Texas.

Here is his highlight video if you missed it:

This tape reminds me of a guy we currently have on the roster. As a matter of fact, I went back and watched his tape, and they both wore #44 in H.S.: Aaron Bellazin.

(Here's a link to Aaron's Everman tape)

If Syd can be as good as Aaron, then this is a good get!

What's up with all the "undersize" references at Moore?

Do you undersize guys remember Booger kennedy?

It is not the size of the dog in a fight, it is the size of the fight in the dog!

Moore looks like a good DT to have on our side, with alot of fight.

There are many D1 colleges that have starting 6.0 ft or 6-1 DT's. Many NFL pro teams have 6 ft DT's

The 49'ers have a 6.0ft DT that played in the Super Bowl last Sunday night.

I like this commitment for North Texas football.

Booger may have outweighed Syd by a pound or two... or ninety.
