WAC will remain viable

Do ya'll remember the Iraqi Minister of Information who was being interviewed during the invasion of Iraq saying the infidels were dying in the desert and assured the world Saddam was wiping out coalition forces while US tanks were a half mile from his hotel? That memory came to mind while reading that article.

Oh how the might have fallen. I grew up on the old, pre-MWC WAC. Those were some insane times.

BYU-Utah-UTEP-UNM bball

Urlacher's career at UNM

Majerus's run at Utah

Air Force

SDSU and Marshall Faulk

A trip to Vegas for the bball tourney (UNLV was host)

CSU

LT and TCU

The dreaded SJSU-Hawaii road trip (maybe the hardest road trip in college sports. A win sweep is so rare)

Heck, before my time Arizona and Arizona State were members. Crazy

There are several Division 1 conferences that do not sponsor football*. The WAC will become one of them.

*Horizon League, A10, MVC, etc

good point. both Idaho and NMSU will probably move down to the Big Sky. however, with the loss of the other 5 football playing schools to the MWC and CUSA, and with UTA moving to the Sun Belt, who and what is left in the WAC?
