I know what you were intending, but it's not quite the same thing. UNC was known as the Tar Heels long before they picked a ram for their on the sidelines mascot.

(Same with Alabama...known as Crimson Tide before White Elephant adopted)

That said, I'm down with Mean Green. Just setting the record straight on that, because out sitaution is different to UNC or Alabama, or a dozen other schools that always get mentioned.
