Is number 30 Fred Hunter the son of one of our former players?

I don't know if that's Deon's kid, but I do know that 3. J'Mison "Bobo" Morgan Dallas South Oak Cliff 6'10" 5 is the son of our own Ronnie Morgan.

I sure wish that Johnny had signed Ronnie Jr this past year instead of one of those Mineral Area kids.

I believe basketball has a great shot to excel for this university....both mens and womens teams. Of all those players listed above dont you think we can land some of those upper eschelon players? I know basketball in TX has gotten tougher with the emergence of the aggies and bob knight at tech along with UT consistently being very good but good grief....we do have the new AC, facilities, Gyms, Dorms and have a nice basketball arena to show for it unlike in FB. I think JJ is on the right track of getting some nice transfers but I think that next level is getting some of those guys in high school so they can grow up and be seasoned at NT so by the time they are sophmores/juniors they are ready to roll and make a serious push at the big dance with the systems that they have been grown up on for a few years. I've said this in other threads that the talent level and pool is rising at an astronomical rate in the state of texas with all 3 pro teams dominant since the early 90's and the fact that we have several great college programs here that are and have been nationally recognized for quite a while. I think its time to take basketball to the next level at NT...whether its with or without JJ/Slinker.

Good Point GM,

But the basketball team has NO, I repeat NO support. Neither team has posted a consisitent winning record to get people (Alums from Dallas) excited enough to spend 30 minutes on the road for a game.

NT needs a recognizeable coach, who plays an exciting style of basketball and WINS, beating decent teams that people have heard of. NT needs to get with one of the independent channels and broadcast some of our games, to get people excited about hoops. We need coaches who promote the programs, giving media interviews and just basically schmoosing everyone to make basketball HUGE at NT (Fans, Media, administration, the public).
