Ray Guy went to CUSA Conference mate Southern Mississippi ( I like to spell Mississippi).  Maybe he will attend the NT-Southern Mississippi (see) game here November 19 (?).

I remember watching some old documentary on those Raiders teams that Ray Guy played on.  A tough bunch of outlaws known for all kinds of off the field shenanigans that would land them in jail and the NFL in some serious hot water today, but when they hit the field, they were gonna win come hell and high water.  When asked who was the one player that made the difference on those teams, I remember every single last one of them saying without hesitation or reservation that it was Ray Guy.

Meanwhile, in college...

He was also a placekicker at Southern Mississippi, once kicking a then-record 61-yard field goal in a snowstorm during a game in Utah. In 1972 he kicked a 93-yard punt in a game against the University of Mississippi.

Do you think that the "rugby" style kick that Eric has been using this year will hurt him as it tends to reduce the distance of his punts ?  I understand why he's doing it but nothing looks as good as a 99 yard punt half a mile high.

Beat LA Tech

GO MEAN GREEN

I think it shows his value in situational diversity and options of play.
