it is amazing how unc hasn't been punished due to their fake classes and grades for athletes...i really don't get it...

Although not a fan of SMU they got totally screwed. It is time for non power 5  conf  to tell the NCAA to shove it! Form their governing body and have a playoff for a national championship. I am so sick of the hipocracy that is becoming college athletics. UNT would of gotten the death penalty for these violations! Pathetic!!!!

North Carolina is fast becoming an embarrassment to the nation and the UNC sandal is but one example. Rather than addressing  the problem, UNC has spent almost 8 million on PR firms and lawyers.    Most people here believe the head coaches..football, basketball, soccer, etc knew nothing about this and  are innocent.

The "Carolina Way" was nothing but a hypocritical slogan.

If UNT was UNC, we would have been shut down long ago.

I lived in North Carolina for 6 years. This is all so true. The NCAA is a bunch of suits that need the rug underneath them pulled out. Think UNT and the posses that run it, but think macro and that's the NCAA. It really is a F'n joke.

Class action anti trust suit is the way to go.

But then RV couldn't whore to make budget, so I'm sure he's against it.

I could see the class action come about from some of the student athletes. Think about the star athlete taking lame classes and he can't get a job. Let's see what happens to Louisville. "Like most Colleges we follow all NCAA rules and regulations the ones that don't are in the playoffs!" anonymous AD.

Anti-trust would have to come from the G5's as a solidified group. That is the only thing that will balance the money game and slow down the cheating.

SMU is the perfect NCAA piñata...they are well-known, easy to slap down because they have no measurable fanbase, and they are a small, private school.

I, too, would love the G5s to split from the P5s, whether under NCAA rules or another ruling body. I think they could do it and still be able to build themselves up in a similar fashion to what minor leagues in baseball do, which is usually to be a regional collection of teams that helps control costs.
