Tomorrow through xmas will tell us a lot about our new coach and his impact. 

- What the terms of the deal look like

- Who he hires around him.  DC, OC, strength coach, etc...

- Does he secure a QB who fits his style and what that style looks like 

- How many players defect 

- How quickly recruiting spots start to fill and who we fill them with 

 

Any other thoughts on what is important over the next 30 days?

Recruiting. Recruiting. Recruiting. He and who he will consider his right hand men need to hit the recruiting trail as soon as they possibly can. At this point that is all that matters. We must get some quality guys in here on this team this year. I would first start at trying to poach (SMU, utsa, Tx St, Rice, utep, la tech, etc.) and then work from there. Denton Guyer's QB committed to Meachams offense. Great place to start. Js.

Not saying how hard it it is to win or recruit here.

It took Mac from December 1 hire date until January 10 to complete his first staff. Hopefully the new coach will have the staff complete pretty quick so he they can recruit.

We'll find out a lot about this coaching hire by February.  If we have really hired "The Guy" then I expect that person to pull together a surprisingly good class by then.    What would make surprisingly good class?

• Every player has at least another FBS offer
• A couple of three stars
• At least be in serious contention for a DaMN State Top 100 (Morris has already signed *SIX* to SMU with another dozen offers out.
