We are a quality school with a lot to offer. Maybe our new coaching staff has finally found a way to communicate that.17 points

@emmitt01 and I saw Jayven play in the past two state championships. This will be a phenomenal get for us if he signs. Rick9 points

I don't want to put too much pressure on him (although I believe that he could handle it) but I believe that Jayven Anderson just might be our best defensive recruit since Mean Joe Greene. I hope that we publicize the hell out of his accomplishments. He could very well be a starter from Day 1, since (I believe) we've lost both starting safeties. I think that he is a safety because, even with the loss of our best linebacker in several years, that is still a stronger position than safety. We welcome you Jayven to what was formerly referred to as the P6 conference. We thank you for selecting us. It is players like you that can help us get to the next level. I like the "family" look that seems to be developing among this coaching staff and players. I think that you will like this university.6 points

Are we going to get mad if/when he de-commits from Texas State to commit to UNT or do we only get mad when it's the other way around?5 points

I think I counted 4 or 5 Pick-6's in that highlight reel. Most kids can't pull 4 or 5 Pick-6's in their entire playing career, let alone 1 season. What an incredible addition.5 points

Perhaps this user ought to expound upon said point-of-view: The Dallas Cowboys have a universally-recognizable logo that is found in night skies across virtually every world in the universe, and a play style known for, much like the Mean Green, defense and running the ball, from the likes of DuaneThomas, to TonyDorsett, to HerschelWalker, to EmmittSmith, to DemarcoMurray, to Zeke-and-Pollard of today! 'Humans' bleed red and the Tide have a no nonsense design that is indicative of their head coach's coaching style and demeanor. He runs out of rooms when a stripper is brought in, etc., etc.. Even the 'nUTSAk' team that took UT-Austin to the limit for half-a-game has a Roadrunner that looks like it'll paint a tunnel on a cliff and ignite TNT as soon as making eye contact, for cryin'-out-loud! Now, what do the Mean Green have a history of and are known for? Defense and running the ball, and a badazz attitude that has, in recent years outside of the Fine-era, this user doesn't 'feel' has been evoked! There are those on here who wish for 'Mean Joe Greene' himself to come back and have a large role in the program to help with that, as he was a part of a dynasty elsewhere and earned that nickname for a reason! Why? Because outside the 'Fearsome Foursome' of previous years, nary a team desired to have any part in the 'Steel Curtain' (same with the 'Orange Crush' and 'Doomsday Defense'). Successful conference contenders and champions (divisional and outright) such as Southern Piss and Super Bowl teams from recent memory, such as the Seattle Seahawks (and the 'Legion of Boom') and Filthadelphia Shegles have mascots that evoke fear in opponents, and the badazz attitude translate to high sales numbers from customers (also very important). When an opponent looks at the OG 'Worm'....do they feel such fear and are fans inclined to see a badazz attitude evoked....or have they and will they mock the team for looking like they plastered the genitalia of the 'Jolly Green Giant' on their helmets? Does it make the program look international in-scope, like a 'star' or 'elephant' (some, like professional wrestling legend 'Booker T' say is the real 'king-of-the-jungle'), or regional and to be relegated to PBS on Saturday mornings, from a sock-puppet out of a JimHenson movie or Mr.Rogers episode? The goal here is for the opposing team to take one look at the helmet and say in their heads, 'Aw, shoot! That's the Mean Green and they're gonna dominate!' Not 'Is that where the worm from 'BusyTown'? Where's his flying apple?' Now, this user is an avid student of history and fan of things from bygone eras, was raised on 'handidowns' from siblings and born late to 'baby boomers', was shunned from their own generation and enjoys antiquing, without being homosexual nor married (contrary to what comedian BillEngvall says those who like antiquing are one or the other). In fact....in another open tab this user has on this very computer, this user is continuing to binge watch 'The Rockford Files', back when ideas were still fresh and television quality wasn't was putrid as it is today, despite more options, because less ideas were 'stolen' from. (That StephanJ.Cannell knew his stuff) This user has tubs and tubs of VHS video tapes of roughly twenty years of recorded professional wrestling shows from various organizations and is of a sentimental mindset and is NOT a 'journeyman mercenary' who would play for 'bama if offered, and would, indeed, turn down millions if it meant doing away with, or going against, what this user deems 'sacred'. Am very principled. So, believe this user when it's put forth that this user is not one of those people with a constant, 'out-with-the-old, in-with-the-new' mindset, unless it's an important business survival decision and even then, equivocation can come into play to try and 'satisfy' conflicting points-of-view. HOWEVER....with that said, this user believes it's time for the 'SOW' to join his father in retirement back at the nest, and make way for a 'Grandson-Of-Worm', as it were, to take flight and achieve greater heights! Food-for-thought. Thanks for reading. Peace, Luv, and Anarchy! This user needs to walk off dinner. Edited just now by MGAnCap So you copied and pasted the exact post from that other thread to insert over here?5 points

I like what Keeler did at Sam Houston last season. To get ready for the move and to build depth he redshirted several players, including some upperclassmen (who wanted to play when they moved up). Then in every game he played different redshirt groups so they could get actual game experience in 4 games. I think this would be a great option to help build depth and to keep the players motivated, but still maintain the 4 years.4 points

I think so. You are right, the chances of the entire staff staying intact is 0% but they will replace it with similar. They are just too good. I think the next class will be off the charts good. They are finally utilizing all of the potential we have had in terms of location and facilities. I also think the AAC is a big plus now as well.4 points

UTSA just signed a 4*. Definitely doable. With this staff and the way we have already been recruiting in such a short time, I have no doubts we can also sign a 4* soon.4 points

I've not spoken directly to staff, but if you look at what he did while at UIW and how he built it. They had 15/16 or so OL on scholarship. Reason being, need a starter/back up at each position *sure if one of those 6-10 is better than other option at said position they could move them but you'd like them to train and become an expert at that one position* then you have the 3rd OL at each position as your developmental guy. Allowing you to build sustainability.4 points

Might not like it but I can support, unless they use the phrase "respect my decision"😈4 points

Sure there are a lot of issues with Nike and Jordan, but is there really a better supplier out there? when you look at supply, accessibility, quality, and style its hard to beat Nike as a supplier.4 points

I saw where Coach Morris is supposed to have a 2 p.m. presser on Signing Day. With this weather....not sure if that happens or not.....but am assuming it would be online if it does....4 points

Based on the early results in such a short time, if this recruiting staff stays together somewhat, will UNT sign a 4* on the next class? Or, in the NIL era is this almost undoable?3 points

Hoping Javeon and Jordan Williams play . Bring back the 3 point gunners . Reece should join as I don’t see a South Carolina team .3 points

I stole some of this from JD's post, but it looks like we officially offered him. He currently has FBS offers from Army and Air Force. On his twitter account, he has videos where he kicked one from 58 yards. I'm sure his leg will only get stronger. 7/10 FGs (Long of 45) 51/62 Touchbacks 50/52 PAT Joseph Kim Lawton High (Lawton, Ok) Kicker 5-10 / 190 https://www.kohlskicking.com/player-profiles/joseph-kim3 points

We may not get mad, but we should certainly question his loyalty, and make fun of his idea of "commitment". Maybe even jab him a little bit about his change of heart being only about NIL money.3 points

Nice find. He also retweeted it, so I’m assuming he’s good with it…unless it’s taken down. 🤷🏽♂️3 points

I understand that Jordan is its own brand now, but the silhouette of a guy dunking a basketball seems very unstable on football gear. And I was a big Michael Jordan fan back in the 80’s and 90’s, so no hate on the Jordan brand.3 points

Wonder if the weather will delay any signings. DFW shuts down with the thought of ice and it will probably still be here Wednesday. These kids and schools like to make a production out of it. I’ve already seen one school push theirs to the 9th, though I’ve already forgotten who it was.3 points

This may be a bad take but I noticed the man he's standing with in the second photo is not much taller than him. If that's his father it makes me wonder how much more he has to grow and how that'll affect his QB potential in high school and beyond. Edit: this was an absolutely horrible take as that's one of the new members of the staff that I completely whiffed on recognizing. Thanks @Cr1028.3 points
