Something about a Gary DeLoach defense brought out the best in some pretty amazing linebackers in his time here. Tobe & Craig were quite a duo in 2008-2009. Really glad to see the positive impact his music is making. He can flow, but it's not the cliche money/hoes/clothes rapping. It's so much better.4 points

I find it truly amazing that such beautiful music could come out of such a hard-hitting collegiate linebacker.4 points

I understand your feelings. We are in the same boat in a lot of ways. I look at is as we are finally doing something different and making the hiring moves that SHOULD lead to more wins. I‘m looking at it like if someone as well-known and highly-regarded as Phil Bennett can’t turn around this defense, who could? Because of this, I’m much more open to the idea of PB having an extended higher-paying contract. Now, if they had given that kind of contract to Bodie Reeder or Tate Wallis, I’d be just as frustrated as you.3 points

Plummer, I know all about the Heart of Dallas Bowl win under McCarney. What happened? Did Littrell run out of McCarney recruits? Don't get me wrong, Littrell has brought in some good guys (Mason Fine and several others), but if that Coastal game was an indication of what we have for next season it's going to be a really long season......again! This "high recruiting ranking" doesn't mean doodley schit to me. I want wins. I want UNT to get national recognition. I want UNT to be a thorn in Louisiana Tech's ass. Same with So. Miss, UAB, etc. And BTW, La Tech has the East Texas recruiting market cornered when it comes to football recruiting. Texarkana to the Gulf Coast. They are beating us like a drum!2 points

I think one of the leading story-lines going into this final stretch is how Javion will continue to develop. He has shown signs of shaking off this season-long rut and getting into a really good groove. If he can continue this trend, we are a very tough MM to beat.2 points

They not only could, they should. An old refrain, but CUSA is not a league that is likely to have outstandings teams even at the G5 level. With no clear leader at QB and probably the worst defense in D1 football last year, it certainly will be a challenge. I have confident that the defense is going to rise to at least G5 average nest year, which will be a massive improvement. I think the question is can Aune or any one else on the team be a reliably good QB. Seth has always had very good offenses, if that trend continues; than I can see a team that will be fighting for a championship.2 points

We won the league Championship last year and did not get to go, I think that would be a better argument. Don't screw us twice! GO MEAN GREEN WIN GAMES!!!2 points

I mean I was tailgating about like normal last year, but hoping the environment is back this coming season! With all of the info I’ve heard recently, we should be at 100% capacity. Even the A&M AD (who still owes us money from last year IMO) said they’ll be at 100% unless told not to.2 points

If the J&J vaccine gets approved this Friday (as most people expect) it should speed up the vaccination process. One and done! That's assuming that all of the above mentioned projections did not include the J&J.2 points

Can you imagine if all the names you mentioned above (along with Tobe) made up our current linebacker room?1 point

DENTON – The North Texas volleyball team entered Monday afternoon's matchup with Texas State (25-3, Sun Belt champs) as underdogs. However, that didn't matter to the Mean Green.North Texas swept the Bobcats in three straight sets (25-22, 25-17, 25-22) to pull off the upset at the North Texas Volleyball Center. "We just continue to improve week-by-week," head coach Andrew Palileo said. "Our defense stepped up again, and I'm really excited about the progress we've made over the last two weeks. Our team just continues to fight and work hard, and that showed today in a really big win for us."North Texas handed Texas State -- who received 21 votes in the most recent ACVA Top 25 poll -- its first road loss of the 2020-21 season. The Bobcats entered the contest 15-0 on the road. Billy, this is something I've wondered about when we see new coaching regimes come in and (we hope) step up the recruiting game, much of this taking place in a narrow window of time, during which said coaching staff probably knows little about the various degree granting programs and the marketability of them in the workplace. And I'm not saying, "hey, take up accounting" to a person who make not have the desire or ability for it just because it has obvious earnings potential. I doubt if many people outside of my fairly small circle are aware that knowledge and credentials available from the UNT Department of Geography and the Environment can provide meaningful work and an upward career trajectory, when combined with skills in Geographic Information Systems. I can still remember when down in the City of Dallas Emergency Operations Center, while providing staff training, one of the EOC staff bringing a group of high schoolers in to show the scope of that work, and informing them that the academic credentials could be acquired "just up the road" at UNT. Overall though, I agree with the need for better counseling of the sort which helps any student, whether athlete or not, prepare for a college career that lays the groundwork for success after school and athletics. And it's probably worthwhile for schools to consider how to teach students how to present themselves. But it's not hard nowadays to notice many, whose behavior would have been ill mannered at one time, apparently successful by current standards. But if you're someone just asking for any kind of work, it may be best to show good judgment, rather than just reaching the rather low bar seen on much social media content.1 point

https://meangreensports.com/news/2021/2/23/softball-freshmen-shine-as-mgsb-run-rules-acu-in-home-opener.aspx click link above for full story DENTON – North Texas hit a trio of home runs and freshman Janie Worthington took a no-hit bid into the fifth inning during her first career start as the Mean Green run-ruled ACU 10-2 in five innings on Tuesday afternoon in Lovelace Stadium. "It's great to be home," head coach Rodney DeLong said. "Like I've said in the past we love playing in front of our fans and our atmosphere, and it's good even in COVID times. We still had a good atmosphere today and it was promising and we played well." The Mean Green (4-3) got off to a hot start in their home opener as they got a pair of two-out home runs in the first inning. Junior Tayla Evans hit her second of the year, a towering shot to left field before freshman Rayna Lewis went back-to-back with Evans for the first of her career. Next Home Game is Friday, February 26 at 1:30 PM vs Stephen F Austin1 point

https://bracketville.wordpress.com/bracketology/ This is the most reliable bracketologist over the years. They have WKU as a 12-seed, with beating Alabama, among others, and having a solid record. Because of our non-conference results I think 13-seed is the best we could realistically get. 14-seed probably wouldn’t be shocking, unless we win out, but it would be disappointing.1 point
