There were cable problems. There were a lot of technical problems tonight at the stadium. Nothing to get worked up about, temporary things.7 points

Perhaps maybe coach knew something about what he could and couldn't do against particular teams. I have a hard time believing that if coach believed he could do more that coach Mac wouldn't have given it to him.4 points
-
Let's see who will be honest If DW had started and put up the same number and we won there would be message after message saying "See, he should have been in the whole time". As the old saying goes Haters going to Hate4 points

It shows that even in deeply red Denton (yes, look at the voting history in other elections), the issue of urban drilling and fracking is not a left wing tenet.4 points

A very DT like 12-16 for 107 with 1 td and 1 pick. This is exactly the type of HOF bus driving performance that coach wants.3 points

No excuses, however, a big portion of our crowd had kids with them, in that weather and temperatures getting colder than expected many kids looked unprepared (clothing wise) for that weather and parents took them home. That's my guess. Man that student section was rocking. I believe this ship will right itself, that many kids still believe? That feeds into our guys. Let's go!!!3 points

I thought the crowd was loud and seemed into the game. It made for a fun evening and a good homecoming game.3 points

We are so limited in our offense with MiniMac. His ball takes all day to get there on out routes. He almost had two picked last night. He makes the same damn mistakes Dajon made and doesn't get yanked. A good defense shuts us down. Look at the second half of the last two games. Defenses see that we throw along the line of scrimmage or run short routes, so they jam everyone close to the line. Hence, we've done jack shit in the second half of the last two games. All these other major programs let their best talent get the experience and live with the mistakes(golsten ND).3 points

We are 3-6 and we are above 20k in avg attendance. That's pretty good, but it can get better. It has to.3 points

On the other hand, NOT showing our game on stadium televisions, it would seem, would encourage one to stay in their seat and watch OUR game. It got cold last night and many in the Club chose to stay indoors to talk and drink. While i really enjoy the Club, I wish more was done to make those "indoor' fans realize how important it is to be AT the game rather than just at the game. Beat UTEP GO MEAN GREEN3 points

Are you just intentionally missing the point like some apologist for the athletic department? Every time I leave my seat to go buy something I expect the monitors to show me the game, so that I can buy something and not miss any of the action while I'm standing in line. That's the whole point of having the monitors in the first place. To say "what's the problem? or "no big deal" is soooooo old NT culture. I've spent too many years going to North Texas games and hearing the same thing from casual fans after we lost a game.....especially the ones we should have won, and I'm officially sick of it. If I was standing in line to buy something from my University and there is something wrong with the monitor feed, I would expect the monitors to be off...and a sincere apology from the staff for the inconvenience.3 points

Give the team some credit... defense basically dominated this game... oyr dline was in their backfield all night, good d is what won this game... some of yall fans need to be more fans then haters... just like the umteen thousand douches on the hill for the whole game... great job mean green comin out and playing for your season.3 points

Been saying it for months, but Mac would rather have a QB go 12-16 for 107 1/1 than a QB go 21-30 for 297 3/2. We will win games when we get a great performance from special teams, defense, and the running backs. If we don't, then mark it a L.3 points

Stay away from Rose's Cantina. Not much good happens there, especially when Felina gets involved.3 points

AM is DT with less of an arm. You guys can argue about that being a shot at DT or high praise for AM all you want. I think it's both... in a sad way for North Texas Football.2 points

Also, for what it's worth, it took me 30 minutes to park, because lots were full and traffic sucked. I started to get pissed, then remembered what it use to be like, pulling in 5 minutes before kickoff parking and walking in. I'll take it!!2 points
-
Don't know? Why don't you ask the owner of the board, who happens to be the one that started the topic in this forum.2 points
-
Fouts Field parking lot was full when I was walking through about 30 minutes prior to kickoff... I've never seen that before. Yeah, win and they're inside the gates... also a bigger name than FAU probably would have drawn more people in.2 points
-
We won in two phases last night. On the Scoreboard and on the Common Sense board with a play that had the QB under center and Lynn pile driving it into the endzone. We're learning! Rick2 points

Tell me which QB on the roster currently is capable of consistently putting up those numbers? If McNulty ends up being DT Version 2 for the rest of this year and next season I will take that over what I've seen from Greer and DW this season.2 points

Channels 1-11 worked, nothing beyond that. It was a cable issue they were trying to repair all day.2 points

I assume you were being sarcastic. He was "coddled" much more than "great". The playbook he is asked torun differs greatly from what Dajon is asked to run (even in the four or so snaps he got last night).2 points

I really don't think we beat FAU- I think they beat themselves- they probably played their worst game of the year. I think we played okay, but 3 points in the second half? Disappointed that we didn't see more Dajon Our passing game needs alot of work- disappointed that we only threw the ball 16 times2 points

While I see your point UNT90, there is also a long history of cities with friendly business reputations for "getting things done" that have long-term negative consequences for their people. I don't want to generalize but this is a football forum and a thread on a message board so I will. There is a precedent for businesses to benefit from "business-friendly" cities, using up the resources, then leaving when it dries up. The citizens are left with the consequences. In this particular case I think it was excellent weighing of the costs (unknown long term damage to kids, health that costs big $$) vs the benefits (1% of Denton economy + some vague sense of attractiveness to monolithic "business"). Given that Denton has a growing tech reputation, I think this ban serves two purposes -- protecting health, and also creating a positive environment that a certain kind of person wants to live an work in.2 points

Yep. How you do not make sure the stadium is functioning prpperly before your biggest home game of the year is pretty amazing, if that is truly the case. What is much more likely is that we were too cheap to pay for the Sports package to get the game. We have a budget, don't you know. Either way it's small time to the inth degree, but that is UNT for you.2 points

That's the difference between here and other places. Other places, things like this would be unacceptable. Here, it's simply nothing to get worked up about. That's the case with a lot of things here. Not just technical issues in a new stadium. Nothing to get worked up about.2 points

As i was driving in i had my window down yelling at people walking away from the stadium. Telling them that they are going the wrong way!!!!2 points

Since Apogee opened, every game I have brought the kid to, UNT has won. Every...single...time. Very oddly, as we were leaving, the attendant guy stops her and says, "We won because you were here."2 points

D played excellent. You're not kidding. Shameful. There were probably 40,000 people there, half went in. Haven't seen traffic or a tailgating scene that large since Houston.2 points

Probably not. Less than 1% of Denton's revenue come from gas well permits. Most of the people who work the sites live elsewhere. The revenues go to corporations in Dallas or Houston. Denton won't feel a thing, even from the lawsuits. Pennsylvania, Colorado, New York towns each spent well under $1 million defending their bans. The industry spent a lot of money trying to instill fear into our citizens.2 points

No need to even try. They just don't get it. DT just about always did what he was asked to do. We win Tulane and Ohio if we weren't running the ball unsuccessfully on every 1st and 2nd down in the first half. Funny that the 3 games referenced were all UNT victories. But that doesn't matter, because it doesn't fit the argument. Also, I know we won last night, but show me a game where any QB on the current roster lead their team to victory with over 250 yards passing. You can't, because that game doesn't exist. This team misses DT terribly. All you have to do is look at La. Tech this year to see what a difference an effective QB makes. This team would be at least 5-4 with DT at the helm. Those that think this season has gone just hunky dory in the QB department just don't want to admit how terribly wrong they were.1 point

I was very impressed by how many people showed up for a 2-6 team. It got a lot colder than I thought it would too.1 point

Unless the bowl invite is from HOD or the Fort Worth bowl game, we ain't getting an invite. 30k at a bowl game only 30 miles from campus, not in another state. Bowl games will look at the ticket sales of our allotted away games tickets. I can't imagine that has been good.1 point

What is the problem with showing other games? When you go to suites at other games they always have on espn or abc showing other sporting events. The store always has on other games. It's ok because your within 30 feet of seeing UNT play.1 point

If anybody hasn't "connected the dots" between all of the replies...since Ivies don't offer scholarships, there's the possibility that he would have had to take out loans and didn't want to. They have their own form of financial aid if you can't afford to go, but if it's determined that you don't have enough "need" then you have to come up with the cash. If his parents make too much for him to get decent aid but can't pay the price tag for an Ivy League school, it would make a lot of sense to head to Denton, especially if his major is one of our nationally ranked programs. Edit: Am I the only one who noticed he's got Johnny Quinn's number?1 point

I think you are missing my point. No coach is going to start or keep playing a player that will not work as hard or harder than his teammates or the next guy. No coach will start or keep playing a player unless that player guts it up and does what everybody else is doing to get better and make plays--UNLESS that player is so good that he succeeds in spite of lack of development/lack of discipline to be a better player or doesn't work as expected. No coach who wants to coach successfully will do this. Eras come and go. There are some constants, and that's one of them.1 point
