  1. I think you for your words of understanding. I had sent a non angry PM because I wanted not to post public but it was misunderstood and then used against me. It is difficult as a parent as we know how much work has been put forth for so many years and that no one hurts more for a mistake then the player that committed the mistake. It is fun to high five everyone and I am hoping those days will happen again at UNT. It is a great school and a great place to watch football. The fall as been fast and terrible but all can change and hopefully they will make a great new coach hire and we can all once again be in the stands late in December at a bowl game giving high fives to each other. Jesse, I think you are probably correct and I should have just let it go. I did not want to make it public thus the reason for the PM. I appreciate your response as it gives me a different perspective one I should have considered. And yes you are also correct that he hears it all of the time, just go to one of their practices, LOL Thanks for your honest and well thought out response. Been a tough season for everyone but there is hope for the future.
  2. This is somewhat sad as I sent you a PM because I thought it would be better to discuss this in private not on in a public message. However, it was not an angry PM but one just stating I wish you would not refer to my son as a MF. My quote to you was as follows, "You referred to my son as a, "...is the mf'er in the game "? Really, whether you don't like his play or not that has NO class!" That was my main point of the message! The other was simply that I have seen very few examples of someone calling another person a MF to their face without something bad happening, thus my point to reconsider. However, I suppose this is funny to you so I will leave it be. It is so much easier to destroy something or someone than to build something. Thought we could have a discussion about how to improve the culture of the team going forward. I can assure you I would not speak of your children whether on a field or off in this manner. Just wanted you to think about that.
  3. AM 5/5=36 yards. DM 1/8=62 yards and Int in end zone.
  4. So sorry to hear of your loss. I still take my 87 year old Dad to the games. Not sure what I will do without him. I agree with your comments. Your point from former player IS TOTALLY CORRECT!!!!! Dad and I will be at the game this Saturday and raising heck yelling for the players.
  5. AM 5/16 first half vs 2's? What game is BV watching? DW 7/13 JG 5/8 w Int. DW and JG against 1's
  6. Please at least take the time to write the facts. He had just lead his JC team to the National #1 ranking and was placed on front page NCAAJC Webb site. He then suffered an injury that sidelined him until the playoff game at the end of the season and the bowl game. So to say his stats were average are misleading. The team lost the next several games without him at QB and fell out of contention, so I do think it showed he was making the difference. He came back while not being fully healed and lead the team to a come from behind win in the bowl game In the last seconds. In regard to practice, yes he did well in the scrimmage. 100% comp. percentage, 1 75 yard TD pass, 1 20 yard TD pass in the back corner of the end zone, and ran a 9 yard QB draw for a running TD against the ones on a 3rd and goal. No Int. ( the other QB's had Int some had more than one) I know our favorite reporter did not mention any if this but the Mean Green Football site did. Practice does in fact matter for those that never played sports. Name me a QB that always sucked in practice and then was named the starter? And yes he knows the entire playbook and the pre-snap reads! Notice who the other QB's speak to when they come to the sideline! May never see the field again but continued to be a team player and always was helping the other QB's during the games. Just a good kid busting his tail to be the best he can be and to help his teammates be the best they can be as well. Just gets tired of the people that hide behind a screen and attack some of these players. I know you have the right to write whatever you desire even if not accurate but just wish that it would not be forgotten that these are not professionals, they are young men who just love the game and most are giving their all to be better.
  7. This year. McNulty 7 Int.'s (3 of which were Pick 6's) the other 4 all lead to scores. Total 7 TO for 49 points. Dajon - 4 Int.'s (2 of which were Pick 6's) the other 2 lead to scores. In addition 2 fumbles both of which lead to returns for TD's. Total 6 TO's for 42 points. (ALL OF THIS IS ONLY 7 QUARTERS) Greer - 2 Int. (Zero for Pick 6's) 1 lead to a score. Total 2 TO's 7 points. should be noted that both Int.'s were against Texas in the FIRST half of his First D1 level start in front of 93,000 loud fans. Texas as by far the best defense we have played. ZERO TO's in the next 10 quarters. One other issue that I have struggled with. Dajon and McNulty are "Duel threat" then why is Dajon running stats (excluding Nichols which is a joke) 29 carries for 33 yards? McNulty 36 carries for 141 (65 of which was on one play last in the UTEP game) SACKS - McNulty -11 Dajon - 9 (7 of which in his 2 starts against Indiana and UAB, 1 against La Tech in 4th quarter and 1 on his only play against So Miss) Greer - 4 (2 against Texas, 1 each against SMU and La Tech) Sacks most of the time are a result of not getting rid of the ball. Even if it means throwing out of bounds or into the ground at the feet of a RB instead of taking large losses of yardage. Example McNulty at Rice. Dajon on the one play he got at Southern Miss when he ran "outside of tackle box" and could have throw out of bounds to save us 10 yards. Next play McNulty comes in and completes pass but we were 1 yard short of first down in So Miss territory. I still believe we have talented players coming up. A lot of Red shirt freshman and red shirt sophomores and junior next year. win next week and go into off season with 2 wins to close out season.
  8. I thought the crowd was loud and seemed into the game. It made for a fun evening and a good homecoming game.
  9. It was nice to get the win but I have trouble getting excited going forward. In the passing game, yes we were 12/16 for 107 yards, but we only threw 3 vertical balls all game! 1 for a TD which was a nice ball across the middle. The 2nd was a pick and the 3rd was incomplete. The balance of our passing game was to take the snap and throw right or left with no reads to a pre determined WR. That will not fly against any team that is good. FAU was terrible. They had very pour defense and yet our last 8 series were 5 punts, an interception, a FG on a fumble recovery on the 30 and a TD on a pick returned to the 15 yard line. Our RB's looked very good and really pound the ball for us and should continue to serve us well going forward. On the defense side of the ball I am not sure, FAU did not have a QB! He looked more like a full back trying to play QB as he did not read and could not throw the ball accurate. (although his TD was a great throw and I wonder where they came from). The game plan reminded me of our first several games as just run the ball between the tackles and hope for the best. On to UTEP.
  10. My fault as I misread it! Sorry for the long winded reply. I do like these young men and hope all keep coming out yelling for them , tailgating and having fun on Saturdays even if we go home disappointed sometimes. Yesterday before the game I took a long walk around the tailgate area and it really was refreshing seeing so many people visiting , laughing , eating and generally having a great time.
  11. Agree that is my point! We are young team and will get much better! There is a lot of talent and heart in that bunch. I love these kids they play with heart. It is a Team and good things to come.
  12. It is 8:30 not 9:30! Take the field at 8:00 for warm up than start 100 plays at 8:30
  13. Our JUCO transfer is not a first time transfer, followed Arkansas QB/OC coach McGee who recruited him to Arkansas out of HS to Conference USA school UAB. Then 1 year at JUCO. Graduated HS early and this is his 3rd Spring Ball. Not comparing him to SEC or Big 12 QB last season but there were 5 starters that did the same thing, 4 in the SEC. Really love competition as it makes them all better.
  14. Welcome to the forums Sthenos :)
