6'4" 270 lb offensive tackle from Beaumont. We offered about a week or two ago. Also holds an offer from SMU.

Jeez.

We have won one recruiting battle for a guy with multiple offers and lost what seems like a millionkazillion this recruiting season.

We have 3 commits while conference mates have 8, 9, or 10. It's early, but the early portion of recruiting season has been beyond disappointing.

So, we go from bitching about signing a bunch of 2 star recruits one year to bitching about missing out on a 2 star OL and a OL with 0 stars. Funny.

Doesn't that seem kinda like a step backwards to you?

Everyone thought the bowl season would provide a recruiting bump. So far, it hasn't. And that's disappointing. And it's disappointing to lose a recruiting battle with a Belt team. Especially on a recruit Vito states we "recruited heavily."

But it's still early.

I started to call that one. When UNT and others of our level go up against a Louisiana school, odds are that the Louisiana school will win the recruiting battle. SE Texas, Beaumont, Port Arthur, Orange, has a rich cajun heritage, thus, many of those recruits will migrate over the border where they feel more comfortable.

I just choose to not get too worked up this early in the process. Marks is not even ranked by Rivals and people are calling it the end of the world. I prefer to wait and see how classes pan out after they have been at NT for a couple years before rating them anyway. There are still many moons to go before signing day.
