DMN and FWST websites this morning

FW Star telegram has a blog update from Mac Engel with the headline that UNT fans better show up to the bowl game--hard hitting local advice!! But, at least we are mentioned in the FWST this morning beyond the fact that the DMN has us mentioned in the headline that SMU finishes behind Rice and UNT in the Texas College Rankings...

Not exactly owning the media coverage yet--maybe later this week or this month??

I still don't understand how the best in texas poll has TCU ahead of us.

I debated this one within my own brain pan as well. I think them giving baylor a really really good game helps solidify them. I think I am more ok with this than smu's position in this thing all year long. if I were to match up smu and utsa, I'd pick utsa by 10 points.

I think the TCU and SMU fan bases will really have the attendance magnifying glass on the Fair Park Cotton Bowl Jan 1...

The Cotton Bowl seats 91K right? Even with a great crowd it will be hard to fill up with an opponent who may bring 1000 fans.

Serious question, what number would make us all proud?

is it 25k? 30k?

What number would make us feel good about things?

and what number would get respect from other programs? is that number like 40k?

I think we will bring 25k to this game. in that stadium, it will not look very good.

I think 40k would be very impressive to bowel committees. Lets not forget that one of these years, the bowl we want may have to decide between us, another CUSA team like UTSA, and possibly teams from other conferences. A big part of that decision will be who can bring the most people.

I am happy with this media attention now, with the bowl far off. I really hope it picks up and New Years gets here.

To answer your question, I think if we beat the bowls previous attendance records we will have accomplished something. 50k
