NT Soccer vs. TSU

Recommended Posts

The game is tonight at the Mean Green Soccer Stadium. 7:00pm. This should not be a difficult win tonight. The SWAC schools are traditionally mediocre at best in soccer and that is being nice. Anything can happen though, it's a crazy game (anyone remember the 2-0 USA victory over Spain in the 2009 Confederations Cup?).

Unfortunately, I will not be able to provide updates for this one, as I had an unavoidable conflict, however I strongly encourage anybody in the area to go out and support this team, which could be something special come mid-November.

After tonight, the team will head to Grambling for a Sunday game.

ONE WEEK FROM TODAY IS THE BIGGEST GAME OF THE SEASON AGAINST BAYLOR. EVERYONE SHOULD POSTPONE THEIR ACTIVITIES ON THE HILL FOR HALF AN HOUR AND COME SEE THIS TEAM PLAY A POTENTIALLY RANKED TEAM AT HOME. THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THIS NOT TO BE A SELL OUT AND ATTENDANCE RECORD BREAKER.

Go Mean Green!

Live stats will apparently be available here once the game starts, so there's no need for constant forum updates from Matt (which I'm sure he's happy to be able to save a little bit of time). GMG

Yes, the live stats are available...When I'm able to make the game I try and give a little more detail about game flow and how the goals are scored. The live stats do not always to the game justice...of course, for people who are interested, the best alternative is to actually go to the game.

Thanks. Saw this after I posted earlier. Massive stretch coming up against Baylor, LBSU (at TAMU), OSU (at TAMU), and TCU.

Good win tonight, as it should have been. It looks like NT outshot TSU literally by a margin of 50. It is good to know we did not play down to their level.

I found this online dated Sept. 6th:

SUNDAY

Long Beach State Women’s Soccer vs. North Texas, College Station, 8:00 a.m.

Staying on the campus of Texas A&M, the 49ers will face the University of North Texas in a morning match up. A member of the Sun Belt Conference, the Mean Green is off to a 5-0 start after defeating Houston, 2-1 and Texas Southern, 6-0, this past weekend. Junior defender Kelsey Hodges (#15) leads the Mean Green with four goals (eight points) and a game-winner. Senior forward Michelle Young (#16) leads the team with 24 shot attempts, 10 on goal, and sophomore keeper Jackie Kerestine is in goal for the Mean Green with 14 saves and only two goals allowed.
