...we will be 4-4 in the Belt. No bad considering how young we were entering the season.

My only disappointment this season was McNulty over Osborn...even after games got out of hand.

Most disappointing loss, by far, was the Louisiana game. Thompson goes down, we cough up a lead. Defense keeps us in the game before giving up 17 in the final stanza. Wish we'd tried Osborn in the fourth quarter of that one since McNulty wasn't moving the offense.

All in all, pleased with the progress. Again, injuries riddled us this year. However, unlike other recent seasons where injuries decimated the team, it didn't cave.

Since the firing of Dodge, we are 6-10, and could be 7-10...with the same or younger roster. These are good coaches, fellas. With a full season of recruiting, and some better luck on the injury front, we could blow up in 2012.

If Canales stays, we'll be looking at three consecutive seasons with the same OC, and Thompson, who was brilliant at times, with all of that experience running his system...it could be really good if some pass catchers emerge.

Amazing what we did with the young OL, DL, and inexperience at WR. Did I say these were good coaches?

I would be extremely pleased with 5-7. Just wish we would quit shooting ourselves in the foot when we schedule such a tough non-conference slate. The future is bright indeed! GMG

I know I am ready for a bowl for sure.... I do have a question though. How many bowls were offered to the Sunbelt during our reign?

Just throwing this out there, we'll get to play South Alabama at home next season, and by no means will that be an easy game, but what that means is since they're transitional FBS they can't make the postseason but are technically SBC members. That means that we'll get to skip one sun belt opponent next season. Maybe that opponent is ASU or ULL, and if Houston is off the schedule, we pick up another home game we can win, and this team goes from 5 or 6 wins expected next season to 7 or 8. I am excited for next season, it will be the first time in a long time we can all make our bowl predictions and not be making them after drinking kool aid, there is some legitimate young FBS talent here, can't wait to see what Mac will be able to do with the kids he signs this year.

Not "if" UNT wins Saturday as the title of the thread mentions...BUT WHEN UNT wins Saturday the record will be 4-4 in the 'Belt and 5-7 overall. I say that's a darn good start to turning this Green Machine around in a positive direction.

FILL APOGEE for SENIOR DAY Saturday...these seniors have been through a lot during their careers at UNT and they have hung in there and worked hard to build a better and stronger program for the players who follow. Time for the Mean green faithful to tun out on SENIOR DAY to say "good bye" and "thanks for all you have done" to the seniors...I, for one, am very appreciative of the fact they stayed to see it through...

KA-POW! Wife will not sit through it; but, I'll endeavor to make a go of it.

Really would like to see us finish 4-4 in conference. I thought we would do that last season, and we almost did. Hard to believe it's be since 2004 that we'd been .500 or better in conference...in the Sun Belt Conference.
