Did a great job at TAMU but not so good at Kentucky where the standards must be higher.

I still think Billy G would've been successful in the Bluegrass. Remember he did share Coach of the Year in the SEC last year.

And yes, standards are insanely high in Kentucky. Gillispie will be successful wherever he ultimately resurfaces.

The fact that he's a borderline alcoholic, or that he tries to pick up co-eds? Those were stories that floated around when he was at A&M as well.

A USAToday article mentioned he conducted draining 2-hour practices on game day, leaving some players spent at the end of close games. Who practices on game days?

Same type of stories. UK had a vehicle and driver at the ready 24 hours a day to drive Billie around because of his drinking. Not sure about the co-ed stuff

Well, unless something has changed, UNT does. Granted, it isn't a full practice, but it isn't just a walk through either. Not a bad thing though. Keeps you from having guys sleep all day and it keeps them focused on, or at least aware of the game.
