Story On Coaching Changes

isnt moving gandy sort of like having a plumbing problem for two years then deciding to let your live in cousin, a plumber, have a look. maybe dodge cant see the forest.

Exactly. Dodge says in the article that after going out and talking to people, he felt that Gandy was the best fit for the position. and all along he has been on the staff.....huh.

The other problem that I see in the article, is that it says Dodge is interviewing folks for the D-line position......hey coach, how about let your Defensive Coordinator go find who he wants to coach with? This article is just an example of why I don't think much will change next year. I am still on board obviously because it's my alma mater, but I have serious doubts we will see much change next season in terms of results.

Aren't you assuming that Deloach is not part of that process? Maybe these interviewees are all hand picked by Deloach aren't we getting the cart ahead of the horse? I don't know the answer but that seems like a lot to assume from this article.

Personally I am very pleased that they will be hiring an interior defensive line specialist. That is the one area besides special teams that needs MAJOR improvement if we are to be competitive next season. I expect that DeLoach will be a huge part of this hire and I am excited about the prospects of who it may be.

Maybe a solid hire at this position could land a recruit we need for DT position in the 2009 class, help develop Tevinn Cantly into the player he can be, or both.
